Little jar of miracles
To set the scene my bathroom cabinet is groaning under the weight of lotions, potions, balms, creams, serums and anything else that I'm gullible enough to fall for in the beauty ailse that claims to make me look 15 years young, give me hair that would make Rapunzel jealous and the body of a 20 year old. I am a marketing persons dream - celebrity endorsement, I'm there. Flash packaging, I'm there. Buy one get one half price, you get the picture...After reading about the benefits of coconut oil I thought, why not? I have been the owner of this little jar of miracles for about 4 days and I love it. The smell, oh the smell!! As a child of the 70/80's Bounty Bars were as near as I was going to get to a coconut - these were times when Findus Crispy Pancakes, Birds Eye Potato Waffles followed by a bowl of Angel Delight were considered a perfectly good meal for a 10 year old. I digress. It smells fab. I was a little dubious about being able to eat something you could also put on your face. Being a brave woman, I stuck my finger in and gave it a go. Taste is delicious. So far I've used it as:A lip balm - chapped dry lips gone within 2 daysMoisturiser - scaly lizard like shins are goneFace balm - very small amount at nightHair De-frizzer - again a very small amount to banish the candy floss look as soon as it drizzles outside.Oil pulling - Google it - a bit weird, but you can do it whilst watching Will and Grace, so why not?And did I mention the smell...

No problems
I am new to coconut oil despite years of cooking Asian food, I was made interested by the current work suggesting that it can halt physical decline in our brains. The list of highly proven virtues is a long one, adding the latest research into it's possible effectiveness in being a natural replacement for the pharmaceutical industries offerings for arresting decline in dementia and the fact that I am expanding my Asian cooking range to include dishes using coconut products avoided until I learned of this possible benefit as I don't particularly like the taste of coconut brought me to Amazon who I trust more than any other "large scale" online facilitator of range testing. So as this is the first producer tried, I have nothing to compare the product itself with, but the purchase was as trouble free and simple as one has come to expect, and I have no issues at all with my first purchase of this product which offers a range of positives, I still don't much like the taste of coconut which is my problem not that of coconut based products, It is only slightly evident as a taste, and if it halts the deterioration of ones mental faculties, it seems well worth a try ?I infinitely prefer Nature's highly evolved sources of chemicals to those from human Chemists. I rather think our creator's extra billions of years experience leaves he she or it worthy of deserving more of my confidence than anyone from a species less than 200,000 years in existence ? (notwithstanding our cores going back to the start of at least this Universe).A perfectly satisfactory transaction and product.

Excellent for my little dog!
I was looking for a coat oil for my little dog's coat as it can be quite dry and someone suggested coconut oil which is why I ordered this. It does an excellent job, the oil tends to be solid in the jar so I just take out a little using a teaspoon, put it in the palm of my hand where it soon becomes liquid. I rub my palm together to spread the oil and then very lightly brush them over the dog's coat and brush it in. Any that is left on my hands I just rub into my hands. There has been a definite improvement in his coat, it tangles less easily and is in better condition and my hands are soft and smooth too. It was ideal for what I needed!

Excellent all rounder
I have been researching the benefits of Virginia coconut oil and was impressed with all the health benefits. I used a spoon to separate some of it into another pot for face cream. And the original pot to cook with.Beauty treatment. I use this every night on my face and im really impressed with results. My skin is a lot more toned looking, plumper and the fine lines are gradually reducing. My deep eye wrinkles are still there but a lot more less crepy. Wish I has bought this in my 20s rather than late 40s but still never too late. Before this oil I was trying all expensive brands to reduce the sunbed damage of my late teen life.I also just started using it on my son's face who has dry cracked skin that blisters. With its antibacterial benefits I'm sure it will help as no other cream has.Cooking- replacing existing cooking oil with coconut oil has benefits of reducing fat in the arteries and some report weight loss. Although I can't tell if that is happening I'm willing to use it daily (2 tablespoons recommended) as I don't notice a taste difference. I've used it for frying, replaced 1/2 marg/butter with coconut oil in recipes etc.Just read the benefits of using coconut oil.The pot initially looked big but i'm thinking I need the gallon one now as use it for everything.

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil - don't settle for anything less
10 Great British Pounds is expensive for any grocery item but your money is buying you a high quality product that tastes great and is good for your health so it's worth it. A little bit goes a long way. It's also incredibly versatile. Add it to smoothies, replace butter, cook with it or use it on your skin and hair as a nourishing beauty product. I should highlight that if you're skin is is prone to breaking out in pimples (spots / zits), coconut oil is heavy and can clog pores so be mindful of that. I love using this as a hand moisturiser it's so nourishing and absorbs into the skin. It doesn't feel greasy or messy like Shea butter does. This product is Organic and as pure as it comes, straight from the Coconut extracted without chemicals and free from any additives. You can make it last too so it isn't really that expensive. Coconut oil will be a permanent fixture of my grocery list from now on. I am so glad I found Coconut oil!
