OK, it's not made to the same standards as a more expensive torch like a Petzl or LED Lenser but for the price this is excellent. It's really bright and being rechargeable (with a micro USB lead as used for most mobile phones) makes it easy to keep it topped up so it's ready for use any time. I don't like throwing away part-used non-rechargeable batteries as it seems like a waste, so deciding when to replace the batteries in a normal torch is a balancing act between wasting resources and putting up with a gradually dimming torch. That's not the case with this one - plug it in every now and then and it's always fully charged. Plus the fact that it uses a lithium battery means high capacity with low weight and no memory effect so it's perfectly fine to top it up any time.The beam consists of a really quite narrow, very bright section in the middle with a wider, much less bright area surrounding it. The wide area is easily bright enough to see where you're walking or what you're doing close up and the narrow brighter beam is great for looking further ahead as you would to see where a path leads in the dark. More expensive head torches seem to smooth out the transition between the bright/narrow part and the less bright/wide parts a bit better, but for the price I'm not worried.There are 4 modes which are accessed by sequential presses of the single top-mounted button, in this order:1: Bright white2: Dim white3: Flashing white4: RedYou have to cycle through all modes to get back to the off position. Not a problem for me but worth knowing about.The only area I can't comment on yet is longevity, only having owned it for a few days, but I see no reason why it shouldn't last a good while if looked after properly.Recommended!

This is a nice lightweight head torch. Perfect for short or long duration use, the light is nice and bright, although the very bright operation is blinding if your at the other end of the beam! and you will probably use the 'dim' option for routine, walking use (which extends the battery life). The switch easy to find when wearing and headband is comfortable. Importantly the rechargeable batteries charge up pretty quickly and I use a power pack charged via a solar panel to charge the torch, the charge lasted all week with regular use.The light switch goes to high beam as the first option, then to 'dim', which is my go to option, then to strobe, then to red, which is great for using in and around the campsite when you want to talk to people without blinding them. Ideally I would prefer the red option first, but its not that bigger deal, the only thing I would have liked to have seen as part of this purchase would have been a storage pouch. Overall this head torch is a great little unit.

This is a nice and bright rechargeable head torch. It is light and recharges in a few hours. I have had this one for over a year now so it is well tested and is still working. However it is missing two things which a different cheaper head torch that I have just bought offers. It does not have the hands free control option for switching on and off. (Wave your hand in front of the light to switch it on or off). And it does not have the flashing red lights only solid ones which is a nuisance as the flashing ones are good if you are walking/cycling on the road at night and don't have any other light. I recently bought a different rechargeable head torch (Akale Rechargeable LED Headlamps, with Induction Modes LED Head Torch USB, Dimmable , 3 Modes,USB Cable Included, Hands Free CREE LED Head Lights, Ideal for Camping, Hiking, Jogging [Energy Class A+]) which looks quite similar but has both of these functions and is cheaper making it a much better choice.If buying again I would buy the cheaper one as it has the same performance but with extra very useful features.

I spend a lot of time outside and, at home, I read each night until the early hours, thus a head-torch is, to me, an extremely important part of my life. I have tried many, from the overpriced which don't deliver to the very cheap which, though often better than their expensive counterparts, are mostly short-lived, often uncomfortable to wear. So you cannot imagine the joy of my partner and me on trying our new, Aennon Headtorches! The comfort is such that we can't feel it. The high beam is perfect for seeing our way, setting up bivvies in the dark, just EVERYTHING! Powerful and far-reaching - truly the best we've ever had! The red light is ideal when fishing as it is powerful enough to see everything, even to read by, yet it doesn't scare the fish like when we're setting up for a photo of the catch, more often than not in the dark. And there's me, with my 30hour low-temperature, reading till I drop asleep! No more marks on my forehead, vicious bits sticking in the side of my head - it's perfect! This headtorch is The Best! Thanks, Aennon, our actual lives are the better for having both bought your fantastic, easy-charge, powerful product! I'd recommend these to anyone. Two people here will never want a different brand.
