Fantastic product 100's of great uses but not so great range as they offer
fantastic product,I kinda brought as a bit of a gadget but now thinking of so many possibilities as there are various accessories you can get and all controlled in one app its great, things like you can set up about 50 scenarios things like having a camera in our childrens room you can set the camera's thermometer to trigger the smart plug turning on for a heater, or when it gets dark turn a light on, the using your mobile to make and receive land line calls the smart plug can monitor power use, set times to come on and off and loads of other stuff, really good product......DOWN SIDE there is a but they say huge 300m rage maybe in a open field but the range in our old house with stone walls is about 15 m then it starts to have issues connecting to devices.

Avoid Panasonic and Electrical Discount UK - service is awful
Camera not great. But if you change your router, re-programming the hub is a nightmare. 2 weeks and I'm still not at the end of the tunnel! Hard reset is flaky and doesn't clear out system password so it's faulty. Panasonic support is offshore, diabolical and hard to get. And all they can do is read off the script, not troubleshoot. Don't even try returning it if you buy from Electrical Discount UK as they want approval from Panasonic first. So you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm ditching mine and writing off the costs. Suggest you don't buy it in the first place and avoid the aggravation I've had.

Great concept, poor execution
The concept is great and it's potentially the perfect home security system but instead of taking hold of the market it seems that Panasonic have launched a halfhearted attempt to put a foot in the door. It's not really up to scratch for many reasons and it's a shame they didn't wait until it was better developed and cheaper to expand the system with the add-ons. It could be so good it would change the industry but as it is, I feel it's more likely to damage Panasonic's security reputation than establish it.The hub concept is great and the devices easily register and connect. There is already a good range of devices to add to the system but rather than perfecting the most useful devices I think they have tried to cover too many bases and are promising more developments.Apart from a nice look, the interior camera function is very disappointing. Picture quality is mediocre in daylight and although it works in total darkness it's a poor grainy image that is not going to be much use in a Crime Watch program. The most annoying aspect is that it sends so many alarm notifications even in an empty room that I keep it turned off. Maybe there is interference all around my house because it's not limited to one area. Even outside in the garden (as a trial) where the range of use is impressive, it sends alerts for no reason. The sound alert seems like a great idea except it alerts to silence as well as noise. Turning off the sound alert lessens the notifications but it still triggers far too many false alerts. The other thing that lets the camera down is the slow response time. In a real trigger event by the time it decides to start recording the moving object is out of the frame and the camera records an empty room. The software that I downloaded to use for notifications on my Android is also in need of some serious development and I know smart phones are the portable computers of the modern world but still many of us sit in front of PC's all day (or use windows smart phones) and it would be nice if this major OS had been included in the software development. Maybe we would than have a more functional and user friendly interface to control and view the system. In all honesty I was excited to get the system up and running and I started with the camera and didn't even bother to get busy with the door sensors or smart plug because I quickly realised the main part of the system that I wanted (the camera and the software) was not up to the job. Since then I've been too busy trying to find an alternative and the Panasonic system has been put aside and forgotten about. I will keep it all in a box in the garage or attic for now as I really can't be bothered to repack it and send it back. Maybe when I get my home protected properly I will look at setting it up in some form or another maybe to protect the garage or attic. My best advice is to save yourself some time and get a professional installation. The chances are that by the time you have messed around comparing systems, dithering on what you want and finding out it's actually not what you want you could have had a better system in place with a lot less stress and for the same money.Interestingly "verified purchases" give this product a one or two star rating while just about ALL ratings above two stars are from Vine Reviewers who were given the product for free. Maybe Amazon need to look at the unbiased reality of vine reviews.UPDATE !!! November 2017So I have had some time to give the system some time and find out what it is capable of. First I have to say the thing that lets the system down is still the weakest link and that's the rubbish over priced indoor camera. The picture quality is appalling especially considering that at one time (1980's) Panasonic video cameras were once the aspiration of home video makers. I've now learnt that the false alarms that kept happening were down to the change of light in the room and even clouds passing over were enough to trigger the alarm. I now use the camera with the alarm notice disabled. I purchased a motion sensor and that works well so if I get an alarm I can check the grainy camera to see the room.As for the motion sensor, window sensors and the smart plug they are really very good and I have never had a false alarm on any of these. I have a motion sensor in my motorhome about 50m from the hub. Good battery life and it's been on for about six months and I haven't changed the battery yet. Same goes for the door sensors, battery life is excellent.I am keeping to my score of 2 stars because the camera was the main reason I purchased the system and I had to buy a motion sensor to do what the camera should be doing. I don't know why they don't use the same motion sensor in the camera.

Ok starting point
I currently have several Foscam cameras which use the common Onvif standard to communicate. This is a closed system so not compatible. Its fairly expensive, but it is easy to configure and looks good. You can add loads of accessories to this kit to make it far more flexible. This should be considered the bear minimum. Once other bits and bobs have been added, it will make a great home security system. It uses its own communication system that is 300m over clear air, but i would be suspicious of connectivity if you have lots of walls. Overal its a good starting point for someone who likes things to be simple.

Good system
I have never considered buying such a system before but I am pleased that I got this one.It was very straightforward to setup and I did this in no time at all.The system is of high quality and well made.I have a small two bedroom house and this provided all the security I needed.

There are far better alternatives available for the cash.
Our system consists on 1 PIR and 4 Window sensors, we use it purely as an alarm for the house.I have found the App to be glitchy and slow (infuriating when you're stood out side the back door in the rain) If you go in and trigger the entry delay the App seem overwhelmed and crashes, it's then super hard to dis-arm the alarm in time.when you approach the house it's best to 1. allow your phone to connect to your wifi (App is happier then) 2. Dis-arm the alarm through the App 3. finally go inside. If you use the keypad, the process for entering the pin is overly complex (apparently) so I would suggest using the key fobs. Finally Panasonic don't seem fully committed to this product, there are no new products being developed despite rumours and the products are slowly disappearing from retailers (Maplin dropped this product shortly before their demise). Not a bad attempt but needs improvement that doesn't seem to be forthcoming.
