Do always get Canon brand but this XL version is a bit too expensive to buy regularly.

The quality of Canon genuine ink is always extremely high, and I will never complain about that.The cost of the ink however is a little excessive, especially given the level of output one can gain from the cartridge.If you want the very best quality of print, this is the one to buy, but if you are happy with a 'standard' level of quality b(if I can put it that way) then a more affordable cartridge (non-Canon) would suffice.The images I have provided show box art and labels for old Sega games that I made and printed using this ink.
