Slate House Sign Name Number Door House Sign 25x13cms

This slate sign is a beautiful item, it adds a real sense of simple and elegant style to the front of our house and as an added bonus delivery men no longer knock the door and ask if we are number 36 :)The slate itself is of a decent thickness and the etching stands out well enough to be visible from a good distance.Mounting is simple, just two holes drilled into the surface you wish to mount upon. There are two plastic spacers that hold the sign around 1cm from the wall, I like this look but if you wanted a flush mount you could easily not use them but I would recommend a couple of rubber washers if you do this so as not to damage the sign. There is then a couple of recessed plastic caps that stop the screws coming in to contact with the slate and finally a couple of screw caps to hide the screws completely.This is actually the second slate that I have had from here, the first one came with a defect but UK Sign Shop sent me another one immediately without quibble, I received the new unit within 2 days. This kind of service is refreshing and I cannot recommend them more.I would definitely recommend this sign to anyone and with the level of service backing it up there is no cause for concern ordering from here.For anyone who is interested here is the light we used to light the sign up. Had this on my front door for a few years now and it still looks as good as the day I bought it

Nothing wrong with the sign whatsover, in fact it's very nice. Just a shame it was made the wrong size. Too small and can barely be seen from the road which defeats the object if visitors have to get out of the car and walk up the path to read it.

The colour and look of the sign is just what we wanted. My only criticism is that the spacers need to be a bit better to keep the sign parallel with the wall when it is tightened up with the screws.

The slate base appears okay, but the lettering is what lets this product down to the point that it is not really fit for purpose. Faint grey on a black surface. This may appear harsh but I had stated by email that I would like the lettering to be in white. An attempt at engraving would be appreciated as the font is seemingly printed on. Not impressed with the format either the font is incredibly small compared to the size of the tile. On the upside it did however arrive when specified so not all bad.

The price was great.... Only having it a week the letters have started to wear away.
