The is an excellent product supplied by an excellent retailer. I have used one of the original Neen dual channel models for 20 years, that cost roughly £120 when purchased, Ihey are about the best was of providing a drug free way to relieve at least some of the pain allowing me to think clearly and lesson the need for analgesics such as Morphine and its awful side effects. After mine gave up the ghost I bought a TPN model, it is just as effective, considerably lighter and cheaper than the Neen model although probably not as robust. I was so impressed that I bought my father in law one as he is in constant hip pain, like me he wears it daily and swears by it. I have recommended it to family and friends who have also purchased them. This review relates to a replacement model purchased after my mother in law was convinced that it was no longer working. This turned out to be technophobia on her part, but having contacted Physio Supplies before discovering this they offered to replace it and even supplied a pre paid returns label, without quibble. Now that is what I call customer service, I have no hesitation in recommending both the product and the retailer, if there was a way to award a sixth star rating they would each get an extra one. Incidentally we kept the second one as a backup against a future out break of mother-in-law-itus

When you have had chronic back pain for years, you tend to try anything. This tens machine certainly has the advantage that it "masks the pain." The sensation of electric impulses is a little unnerving for the first few seconds, but you soon get used to it and it definitely provides some relief. The downside is the "wires." Whether you clip the unit onto your belt or push it into your pocket(as I do), obviously the wires are covered by your shirt or vest, etc, and have to come back up and out of your shirt to connect to the unit. This does put pressure on the sticky pads which can become partially detached or 'curl up' at the edges. If you attach the pads to the lower back, you can cover them with the elastic in the band of your underwear - which does help- but the wires will be visible when they exit your clothing up to the point where you situate the machine. You can cover them with a sweater, or simply leave them dangling for a few inches as you push the machine in your pocket. Nonetheless, the machine is tremendous value for money and I recommend you try one. You tend to get relief for a while, even after you switch it off. This may be psychological, but so what! Worth noting that the sticky pads are extremely sticky and, although they stick easily to your fingers when handling them, the glue does not stay on your fingers when you pull your fingers away. I recommend using for two or three hours at a time, but not every day. Use it when you really need it, so that you will not become fed up with messing about with the wires, etc.

My son has suffered quite severe pain and discomfort for a number of years, and recently has been prescribed morphine based painkillers which caused me concern, and, quite frankly, changed his personality, and he spent most of the day fast asleep. He went into the local Pain Clinic, and had a trial with this very model of the TENS Machine. He said that it had taken away most of his pain, and the look on his face showed this to be true. As the machine was not able to be prescribed, I started my internet search, and there it was the very machine advertised at a cost cheaper than I thought. Came with everything we needed, so it was ordered and arrived a few days later. Good service. My son has a mild learning difficulty, and he can manage to set it up, put the bits where the bits need to be, very easy and simple to work. My son is becoming himself again, and this is no fluke, these machines do what they say on the packet, they help relieve the pain. No tablets, no injections, no patches, just a simple application of two electrodes on the skin and turn the machine on. Just to add, in certain cases this machines cost can be reduced as VAT can be claimed back. Go on give it a try, it's reasonably cheap and does a fantastic job. It changed my sons dependence on morphine based painkillers.

It was ok and assisted with pain relief; except the patches do not last long. Do remember not to touch the patch to peel without switching the current off first!!!!!

I ordered this for a friend, as she was suffering from a bad back and was willing to try anything to ease the pain. She had heard of TENS machines before and used one when she was pregnant with her daughter, so wondered if it would help her back pain. Once the machine arrived (the following day - Prime delivery really is a lifesaver!) it took her a while to get the hang of the best setting for her individual needs (enough to provide a decent level of pain relief without being uncomfortably strong), but after a couple of hours she had settled down and felt much better. It's a small unit so discreet enough to be worn under clothing at work, and a quality 9V PP3 battery (not included, unfortunately) should keep it going for days. This seems like a great way to achieve non-intrusive, drug-free - and therefore side effect free - pain relief without breaking the bank, and you may only need to use it for an hour or so each day depending on your complaint. This is a basic machine, which is reflected in the price, but is based on the same technology as more expensive machines, and I've heard that this model is loaned out by several NHS trusts which is as good an endorsement as any.
