Wooden handle is fine hammer has a nice balance and feel about it.

Q: what is the diamater of strike zone of the hammer face? AKA, the bit that hits the nail.

I bought the Tack hammer to recover two chairs. It dose exactly what it’s supposed to do! Knock in tacks. The measurement across the head is 15 mm.

Q: Would this hammer be suitable for 8- 10 yr olds to learn how to put tack nails into pieces of wood? Children would be under supervision.
