Wubaluba dub dub!!
It works perfectly, just as described. I couldn't be happier. Even USB 2.0 fallback could still run 2 screens on my 7 yr old Macbook Air (OSX Sierra). Also worked fine on a HP Z-Book 15 G3 and a Microsoft Surface 3. I just plugged it in, installed the driver from displaylink.com and everything worked. If you want something that will work on Windows and OSX I can recommend this.It come's with a sticky pad underneath, this is attached to a removable plastic plate. I didn't realise this until after the first time I stuck it down I tried to peel it up again. It sticks really well, and it doesn't leave any mess. But I pulled the plastic latches off the plate, making it fairly useless now - I'm fine with this because I don't need it stuck down and there are some decent rubber pads that keep it in place still. To avoid doing the same; either remove the plate and just don't use it (at least not until you're sure where it's going!) OR carefully slide the dock left or right (not sure which) and it should come free from the plate.

FINALLY! A solution that works!
Before I really get my teeth into this review I just wanted to express how happy I am right now. Its been a really long time since I've purchased something that has really solved a problem I've been having for a really long time! Read on.For years now, I've been trying to find a sensible way to run more than 2 displays off of my Mac mini. I've tried all sorts, USB to HDMI adapters (which didn't work in my use case*), splitters, and at one stage I even had another mac mini on my desk with Synergy running between the two machines so I could control both with one keyboard and mouse. What a mission.I was VERY skeptical when I ordered this, most of these types of docks that I've tried have simply extended the on-board HDMI of the Mac mini, meaning that they only support a HDMI monitor connected to either the dock, or the Mac itself. Even the thunderbolt docks I've tried worked in this way,NOT THIS DEVICE! I am now happily running 4 display outputs off of a single Mac mini. I've literally been trying to solve this problem for years. Back when I primarily used Windows, running 3, 4, and at one stage 9 displays off of a single machine wasn't really a challenge. My display signal chain is now;- Mac mini display port (mini DP) to display port on my LG ultra wide.- Mac mini HDMI port to portrait 27" (left)- This USB dock DVI to portrait 27" (right) - using DVI to HDMI cable- This USB dock HDMI to Oculus Rift DK2AND IT ALL WORKS! So far, I've not had any rendering issues through the USB dock, and during my testing I was pushing full screen video to both the DVI and HDMI ports on the dock (separate video streams), and all played fine. The unit itself is well built, has a bit of a shiny finish, that finish that you somehow get millions of teeny tiny little scratches on. On the underside of the dock (you can see it in one of my pictures), there is a giant adhesive pad, so you can secure the dock to something. I haven't done this just yet, as I'm still working on placement. It comes with a power brick (UK), a high speed USB 3 cable, a DVI to VGA adapter and a driver CD.Setup on the Mac was pretty straight forward. OSX detected the USB hub, and the network interface automatically. I downloaded drivers from the DisplayLink website, installed them, connected my additional displays, and rebooted. All just worked as OSX booted back up. Truth be told, I haven't tested the audio interfaces yet, but if you look at the kit on my desk, you can probably tell that I'm not likely to ever use the audio interface on this dock ;)The USB 3 ports on the back are fast charge, well I've tested the first USB 3 port, and that was definitely fast charging, I didn't get a chance to test the second USB 3 port.I'm really happy to have 3 screens running again. All off of one Mac Mini, and I can hook up the Oculus DK2 when I need it.Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. If you have a weird use case like me, want more screens on your Mac Mini, or need more ports / a dock to simplify your life, and tidy your cable chain, then just buy this!* Oh and the reason the USB to HDMI display adapters I tried didn't work in my use case? The three different devices/dongles I tried didn't support any kind of display rotation. As you can see, in my setup, my left and right displays are rotated 90 degrees
