Loxley Artist Gummed Tape - Gum Tape 36mm x 54m

This is excellent quality. There are no instructions they assume if you're buying it you must know what to do with it. You dunk it in water and it sticks very quickly into place and dries smoothly. Obviously cut it to the right length first or it will be both sticky and troublesome, just a reminder for those in a rush. Very pleased with the effectiveness and strength. Good stuff.

Bought to tape watercolour paper while painting. Generally easy to use. Generally very strong adhesiveness once applied, although I've had one incident where one of the taped edges of my paper eventually came loose from the board, but that might have been due to me wetting the tape too much.If you haven't used gummed tape before: you must wet the shiny side of the tape to make it sticky, like an envelope, before sticking it to the paper/board. Figuring out the right amount of water to add takes a bit of experimentation. And be warned that you cannot easily remove it from the paper once dried, so you have to leave a margin around your paper to cut off from the taped areas. Tape is wide enough to split in half and use the narrower strips on medium sized to small paintings (e.g. A3 and smaller), so I think it's good value for money.

I've been using it while working on a watercolour children's book and it's been absolutely invaluable I'll definitely buy another roll when I run out. I find it funny however, seeing as I'm not really much of a "Loxley" fan. I thought they were kinda cheap and poor, but nah, this works really great.In case you don't know how to use it:So this is "gummed tape" not self-adhesive, some people seem to get annoyed that it won't stick on it's own, but it's really not supposed to.Use a sponge to wet it on the gummed side before sticking it down and it works like a charm.*you need to wet the paper and all that good stuff before hand before you stick it down of course though*

Bought to be used as hinges on another craft project. Tape was easy to use and worked perfectly when constructing a box. It was strong enough to hold the box together but also flexible enough to create a box that was not square. Having used it on this project I could see various other uses for it in holding together other projects.
