Recommend
A little expensive, but well worth the money. Much better than the cheaper alternatives I was using. Excellent quality and they perform beautifully every time. Plus, they clean up easily without losing their shape. I would recommend these to anyone looking to try watercolour painting.

Good Brushes
I don't really have a lot to compare these to as only just starting out, have used cheap brushes before which were useless, these brushes seem to give me a good result. They hold a lot of water and the tips are good for detail. Pleased with price and quality.

Princeton Neptune watercolour brush set
The combined value of these brushes is over £45 so at this price it's a steal, and the quality of these brushes are very very good! The bristles/hairs are super soft, they hold a good deal of water for synthetics They have a nice point but not needle sharp, however a few hairs do splay out at the sides but it's not an issue when the brush is wet (you can gently massage then back if you're careful when dry). They did intially lose a hair or two when rinsing off the glue initially but none after that. The range of brushes in this pack are also excellent for broad washes, loose pieces and details (personally I'm not so keen on the cats tongue/oval - buts that's because it's not a brush a use for my style of work). All in all I think these are a fantastic set of brushes which will get a lot of use and become a staple of my collection!

Quality and Affordable
Tried many different brands and eventually settled with Princeton. I bought the whole set of Princeton watercolour brushes in different sizes. Very happy with them. Good materials and equipments make the learning process easier.

Absolutely amazing value for high quality brushes
Princeton Neptune watercolour brushes are high quality, artist grade, synthetic squirrel brushes. I love these brushes (though very soft and require getting used to if you usually use more firm/snappy brushes). I've seen a number of tutorials from reputable artists stating they are at least a good as real squirrel hair brushes (which I personally would absolutely not buy, so I'm taking their word for it!). This set is absolutely amazing value - a single size 6 quill usually retails for over £20 - I got the set of 4 for £22.99! Next day delivery too! Couldn't be happier.

Best brushes I've ever had
I bought a Princeton brush last year after searching for a non-hair brush. It was so fantastic I treated myself to this kit. The brushes are exceptional. They hold water like a boss and are smooth and robust in equal measure. All this and no squirrel or sable. Excellent investment.

Worth the expense
These brushes are really great- hadn’t realise how much difference it would make to use brushes that held so much! water !

Princeton make great brushes, but this seller is a nightmare...
Princeton brushes are great and the Neptune line is amazing, but the quill in this pack is defective. The ferrule is too loose and the water gets stuck. I received this 3 days ago, tried it, cleaned it and left it to dry. I thought everything was good so I discarded the packaging. But the brush doesn't dry well and the water is still stuck in there after 3 days!! You can tell from the pictures that the metal wire around the ferrule at the base of the hair is no thigh enough, so water gets trapped there and it will rot with time. You can see trapped water on the wood where the hair meets the handle. It's been like that for the past 3 days. Unfortunately, it means that this quill won't last very long. It's impossible to contact the seller for a replacement. The only option with Amazon is to return the whole pack in the original packaging (which I don't have anymore).Anyways, buy at your own risk. The other brushes in the pack seem good. It's a shame the quill is defective, it was the main reason I bought this pack...
