These Art Creations Sketchbooks are really nice, but it took me a minute to feel the love for them. The paper is an ivory color, which takes some getting used to, but it's not a hindrance to creating art. The finish is smooth, which makes it nice for dry media, especially graphite pencil, colored pencil, and wax pastels such as Neocolor. I love the elastic band that holds the book shut when tossed into my art bag. The big drawback, is the thin weight of the paper, making it tricky to use with wet media, such as watercolor. It won't take more than one layer of wetness without pilling or soaking through to the other side of the page. So, use caution with markers and lots of layers of watercolor. Putting a layer of gesso first may help with this, but I haven't tried this yet. Acrylic paint and acrylic markers work ok on this paper. I've purchased 5 of the 5×8" A5 size over the years. Now that I have learned their positive properties and limitations, I am fully in love with these art journal books.

It’s very nice thick paper does sorta bleed through but not enough to go to the page behind it the color isn’t white which actually is really nice in my opinion the paper is also very smooth and not textured which will make your art look better and cause less pencil smudging it’s can also hold a lot of material and works great with water color

Many cover choices and the overall amount of pages makes for a very freeing artistic experience! Not afraid to experiment or 'mess up' this journal. Take wet media surprisingly well! Very satisfied with my experience.

Compré otro cuaderno de esta marca (tengo varios desde hace años), en este caso rosa, y es que calidad-precio son los mejores, los puedes doblar totalmente, las hojas se abren del todo el recubrimiento lo puedes meter donde sea, darle golpes y nunca le pasa nada, incluso rallarlo es difícil. El gramaje de las hojas está perfecto, la tinta no cala, y es de los más baratos (aunque ha aumentado con el tiempo como todo). Yo intento probar marcas nuevas o consideradas buenas como moleskine (adjunté fotos de uno que tengo desde hace un mes), pero no me queda otra opción que volver siempre a esta marca porque en el caso del moleskine que vale el doble con suerte y si quieres hojas lisas y blancas, y la cinta elástica de pésima calidad, parece que esté dada de sí, el recubrimiento con un uso de lo más tranquilo como es no sacarlo de la mesa y usarlo para escribir en un mes se cae a cachos, el gramaje es casi como una hoja del nuevo testamento…. En conclusión, Jamás volveré a comprarme un moleskine jamás. Juro fidelidad a esta marca porque el resto son un asco.

El color es hermoso. Es de 14 x 21 cm. Buen tamaño. Cubierta dura. El papel es de 140 gr. Está bien para dibujar, incluso he visto que se puede usar marcadores acrílicos, y pues los medios secos como lápiz, tinta, estilógrafo, lápiz de color. Sin embargo, hay que tener cuidado con la presión del trazo. Si presionas demasiado, se marcan los surcos en la página siguiente. También algunos colores de los marcadores tombow se pasan atrás de la página, igual que algunas tintas. Tampoco lo recomiendo para acuarela como tal. Y en caso de usarla, sería pinceladas breves, ya que si pasas dos veces el pincel, se viene el papel, y lógicamente los lavados ondulan el papel. Creo que hasta puedes usar gouaches teniendo lo anterior en consideración. En general es un buen cuaderno, sólo menciono esos pequeños detalles por si le sirven a alguien. Es mucho más barato que las moleskine. (Moleskine tiene 160 gr y este 140 gr.), pero según el precio y la utilidad, este conviene bastante. Además este viene en diferentes colores y están hermosos! También trae elástico para cerrarlo y listón separador. Sólo no tiene bolsillo interior, pero no es ningún problema. A mí me encanta. Ya tengo casi todos los colores.

Está bien para técnicas secas. No soporta acuarela o marcadores, a menos que se le ponga una base como acrílico. El papel es de 140 gr. Esta muy bonito. Tiene separador y elástico. No tiene bolsillo interior. El papel es como ligeramente beige, tipo moleskine
