I doubt many people can hear any difference between a £5 and £50 interconnect, even if there is one (but some people claim they can hear a qualitative difference between 1.8m mains cables, despite the fact that the supply current has travelled most of the way on steel-cored aluminium hawsers, then street cables then twin-and-earth, via lots of big transformers). Subwoofers only handle very low frequencies anyway, so coathanger wire would work fine, as does this nice-looking cable. Gold plating is useful as it prevents corrosion and is low-friction.
