Scooby Apocalypse Vol. 1 Paperback – 7 Feb. 2017

If, like me, you've loved Scooby Doo since childhood, but have had to admit that (for the most part) the stories were not much cop, this reinvention, set in a monster apocalypse, really hits the spot. Ambush Bug creator Keith Giffen & J M DeMatteis are joined by artists Howard Porter, Dale Eaglesham and Scott Hanna for a comic that is the opposite of "decompressed" storytelling. Colouring HiFi makes all the art look good, but has an affinity with Porter that is astounding. Normally I hate the currently -fashionable over-detailed colouring in comics, but this is something else. If you liked the Mystery Incorporated incarnation of the cartoon, this is for you!

I loved scooby doo as a child into my adulthood. This is just a brilliant addition to it. Scooby doo changed with the gen z kids on telly, so this just reminds me of the older scooby doo :)

This saga first volume provides a very interesting and up-to-date new take on the classic Mystery Incorporated gang for a new generation. Volume 1 uses lots of dialogue but isn't devoid of action, or mutated monsters getting their heads violently exploded. The visual style and the panels' iconography give it a real post-apocalypse, Mad Max-type feel, which the dialogue humour every once-in-a-while stands in a balanced contrast to. But don't expect this first volume to be devoid of character. The Mystery Gang as portrayed in this series are very familiar yet unlike you've seen them before - a certain member of the five you'll likely want to wrap up in a hug by the time you reach the volume's end.As a customer who's already on the end of Volume 2 of this saga, be advised: if you find Volume 1 to be a bit lacking in horror and drama, Volume 2 makes up for a slightly-frisky start in those departments.

Unexpectedly fantastic! Great artwork and really enjoyable and intriguing story! I can hardly wait for the second volume! Great read!

I was nervous to read this, but it stays so true to the feel of the characters and feels like it was written by fans. Best comic I've read in a while and I would absolutely recommend, if you want to see your childhood friends now that they've all grown up.

I didn't expect to enjoy this half as much as I am.

Really enjoyed this. Would love to see a tv or big screen adaptation of this.Not for young kids though, this (by tone) is aimed more towards early teens and adults.The reason for the 3 stars is that after I bought vol1, the rest of the books in this series doubled in price (kindle format).Not going to pay nearly £9 for each one when they were less than £4 when i purchased this one.

Llego mas rápido de lo que decía la fecha estimada, como siempre excelentes los envíos por DHL, el formato del comic es algo interesante, en pasta blanda, que pareciera ser poco resistente, pero al no ser un comic muy extenso (Incluye los primeros 6 numeros de la historía) es suficiente para resistir, la historia en si es algo diferente al concepto que se tiene de Scooby-Doo donde de primera instancia los personajes no se conocen de nada pero las circunstancias los llevan a trabajar juntos para evitar una catastrofe mundial

Scooby Doo re-imagined and done in such an awesome way that it's wonderful success! I've loved Scooby Doo since I was a child and even enjoyed the movies, including the much hated sequel. This story does a great job of showing the history of this re-imagined Scooby-verse and creating a way for the characters to get together. Adding "real" monsters to it just heightens the greatness to the story. The author is very good at writing comics and has done a wonderful job making the characters likable & realistic.
