2nd one and i love it
I have this brand holster for a smaller gun and needed one for my new EDC . I had bought an outbacks which had very stiff leather that almost felt fake and the edges were very rough and dug into my skin. I wore it one day and sent it back. I don't think the leather was real or it had some other materials blended into it as it almost felt like plastic fringe scraping me on the edges. It was a decent otherwise but just didn't feel comfortable like this brand's soft leather does. So i finally found this one and I am happy again. Soft and comfortable. Holds the gun well, clip is strong, stitching is quality. It's not a retention holster but it holds the gun tight when new but after break in the gun will slip out if you turn it upside down and it shouldn't. That's my only complaint. A tension retention screw you could tighten over time to help offset the break in of the leather would be common sense on a lot of these slip in leather holster but otherwise this is just a comfortable IWB holster due to the soft leather.

Springfield XD9
Snug fitment just enough for retention. Draw is quite smooth. Tho reholstering maybe difficult for one. Holster collapses as its an IWB holster. Personal preference between Kydex and a leather holster in my opinion. You'll need to break in as it is a very tight fit when you receive it. It does come with instructions on how. I used the zip lock back the holster came in. Inserted the UNLOADED pistol in the bag and jammed it in the holster. The purpose for the bag is to prevent the pistol from getting stuck. Ive left my pistol in the holster for 2 days. Worn it around the house to strech out the leather even more. Sitting, standing and kneeling. Pretty much your daily movements. Comfortable for CCW. Snug carry to minimize printing.

Strong, soft, well-made, comfortable. Meets expectations. Good deal.
First off, I don't give out 5 stars unless whatever it is being rated vastly exceeds my expectations. This holster meets my expectations, and it's worth buying at the price being asked. I own other 1791 products - I'm an admitted fan - and this is by far the softest and most flexible of their holsters that I've used. It is comfortable enough to wear walking, seated, and driving. I almost always carry at the "extreme five o'clock" position, i.e., almost but not quite in the small of my back, or at the four o'clock. I typically wear Levi's 501s or khakis, so no skinny jeans or tight pants. The holster works prefectly in either position regardless of what I wear. The tall, inside leather flap does a great job of protecting against chafe. I typically carry an M&P Shield 9, which fits perfectly in the holster. My Sig 2022 also fits the holster well. A downside to the softness and pliability is that it can be challenging to re-holster my weapon after drawing it because the holster collapses somewhat without the weapon in it. Then again, should I need to draw my weapon in a real, stress-packed self-defense situation, I'm most likely to wait a while to replace it - if I re-holster at all. Strong, soft, well-made, comfortable. Meets expectations. Good deal.

Very Nice Holster; Very Nice Company
Before purchasing, I called the company with some questions. They were very helpful. Placed my order; got it the next day. The holster itself is high quality. It was a little too tight at first, so I put left the pistol in it overnight. Now it's like a custom fit. Very comfortable to wear. Turned the holster upside down, holding carefully so as not to have finger pressure on the pistol, and shook the holster. The pistol never fell out, but I could draw it out easily and smoothly.

Better quality than holsters at twice the price!
This holster is very high quality! Heavy stitching and a strong metal clip. Thick leather is soft enough to mold to my handgun and it perfectly holds my Taurus 1911, 380 Shield, and my 40 Shield.

Great Quality, Great Fit
1791 makes some of the best quality and excellent craftsmanship on their leather products. For the price range there isn't much out there than can compete with this companies standards. Fits great, didn't take too long to break in, absolutely love the look and feel.

Soft gun holster
Nice leather but just a little to soft for me.. But, the 1791 gun belts are very sturdy and stylish.

very comfortable. fits my glock 17 perfectly after break in
very comfortable. fits my glock 17 perfectly after break in. i stick the holster under very hot water, then i place the gun in a plastic bag and place it in the holster. i let it dry with the gun in the plastic bag in the holster for 24hrs. then let dry for another 24hrs. after that, the gun is a perfect fit. i would recommend.
