Nice cello and case for impossible price!
Well, this is not an easy review, but I'll try to do my best. First of all it is a cheap chinese Cello, in addittion, the cheapest almost in amazon uk, therefore you have to be aware that this is not meant to be an Luthier Cello ok? After this clarification, I will describe some aspects:Packaging: Big hard box, and inside it the closed case (awesome BTW) with the cello inside, thus well protected.Initial setup: the bridge is not set up, therefore, you have to put it (the best is to call a luthier) but you can following videos in youtube.Sound: Sinces it is light, the vibration and projection is good. You shoud consider to change your strings to better ones, as you may change in all the cheap asiatic cellos.Bow: Again, it is cheap, therefore, the balance is not the best, but it is well finished.Resin: it is a gift, it is not a problem if you do not change the default strings, but you can have excelents ones for 10 pounds/euros.Tailpiece: As all of this kind in this kind of cellos, you have to be carefull about tighten so much the knobs, since the knobs can damage the base of the microtuner if there is so much tension.Tune pegs: perfect.Problems: in my case, the tailgut of the tail piece got broken 1 day after unpackaging, I contacted the seller, who gently sent me the spare part as soon as he could (thanks you). This cello is ideal for very beginers, that want to start playing, and then, if you upgrade strings, bow and tailpiece, you can have a cello that will let tou play a couple of years!!! It's weight is very light, and the finishing is quite good. You have to know that this kinds instruments, are not a guitar or a bass or an ukelele, they require set up and maintenance. But those thoughts are for the teacher pupil ;)I strongly recommend this cello!

Worth the money
For the money this really is a great item. The cello I received was a one of defect, the neck alignment was to steep so returned by if that wasn’t the case the cello was incredible for the money. The carry case is very sturdy and for what you pay the bow is decent and the strings are your big standard, for 199 this really is worth the purchase for anyone looking to learn to play

Be prepared to pay extra for set up and better strings.
So when the cello arrived, I was a little disappointed that the bridge was not set up so couldn't play it straight away. I googled how to set up a cello but it looked like it would be too easy to get wrong so I took it to a luthier to set up for me. The first guy quoted £100 to scoop the fingerboard, lower the action and re-position the interior peg. The second guy asked £25 to lower the action. He mentioned that the fingerboard wasn't scooped but didn't seem to see too much problem for a beginner cello. However, on setting up, he said the bridge was really a bit too narrow, hence he couldn't place it exactly right. Also, he said the strings were pathetic - no tension and therefore, poor quality sound. He replaced the strings and I now have a nice sounding instrument. This is a basic cello and for what I wanted it for - to learn to play at home as a hobby - it's fine. I'm having a bit of trouble tuning - the fine tuners are quite stiff to turn and don't seem to make that much difference. The big knobs at the top scare me!For the money, it's not a bad instrument. However, I've had to spend and extra £100 to get it to play and sound decent.

Brilliant beginners cello
Brilliant beginners cello. Comes with hard case and a padded case for trips to the music teacher.! I bought tuning pipes to set mine up as I have a good ear for tone and pitch. I would advise beginners to have a cello teacher tune it for them. Lovely tone to the instrument.
