Surprisingly Effective – A Winter Must-Have!
I picked up the Beurer TL30UK SAD lamp (open box, “very good” condition) with a 26% discount — and I’m so glad I did! Despite being “open box,” it looked practically brand new, and it arrived with everything, including the travel pouch.I bought this to help with the impending winter slump — low energy, sluggish mornings, and that general fog that seems to settle in during the darker months. It’s compact enough to sit on my desk without taking up space, and I love that it’s super easy to use — just one button and it’s on. The 10,000 lux brightness is powerful but not harsh, and there’s no flicker or UV, so it’s gentle on the eyes. Plus, the adjustable stand is a nice touch for angling it just right.Overall, this little lamp will become a staple in my morning routine — highly recommend if you’re looking for a natural way to fight off the winter blues! I’ve also read it helps with your sleep routine 😴

Perfectly bright, functional and portable
Update 09/02/22:After a couple of months use I can honestly say this thing is brilliant (no pun intended!)I've got used to the brightness of the light and & now have it in front of me on my desk all day until 4 or 5 pm. It helps keep me focused & alert, and my insomnia's clearly improved. Despite some very difficult circumstances, I feel its also helping to keep depression at bay.Original review:This was a great purchase - I had a very expensive SAD lamp about 12 years ago that was 3 or 4 times the size of this and very bulky. That one got broken last time we moved, so because my mood's been low recently and my sleep cycle's really messed up, I decided it was time to invest in a new one.I bought this particular model because it was the cheapest SAD lamp I could find from a reputable manufacturer. I was sceptical that such a tiny lamp could be any good, but I'm happy to have been proved wrong. Yes, it's tiny size means you either need to have it very close to your face or use it for longer than my old lamp to get the full effect, but because it's so dinky, it's easy to whip out and switch on anywhere there's a plug socket. The lead on the plug is over 5 ft long (about 155 cm) which has been plenty for my needs, but an extension lead could always be used if required.Since my lamp arrived 3 days ago I've placed it on the table in front of me each morning whilst eating breakfast - it's easily propped up using the little stand provided. However the best thing for me was realising I can pop it in the tablet slot on my desk whilst I'm working (see photos). Initially this obscured my laptop screen, but the box the lamp came in was just the right size to raise my laptop to the right height! The lamp does feel very bright so close to my face, and I believe working like this for too long would probably cause a headache, but it's easy to switch the lamp on and off, so I'm using it in short bursts throughout the day, which (for me at least) seems the best way to use it.Beurer's official blurb states the light therapy takes about 7 days to take effect. I've not had it that long,so I can't vouch for this lamp's longer-term effects, but over two days of regular use, I feel it's made me a little more positive and alert by day, and best of all, I fell asleep by 11:30 pm last night and stayed asleep until morning which is virtually unheard of! Having said that, I've also just switched from CBD to Valerian as a calmer/sleep aid, so how much of this can be attributed to the lamp I don't know. There seems to be plenty of scientific evidence online to back the manufacturers claims for this lamp. My gut feeling is that the lamp will have a substantial role to play in resolving seasonal low mood and sleep issues, but only as part of a wider strategy that includes eating healthily, physical exercise, practicing some kind of mindfulness, sleep hygeine, and supplementing with relevant vitamins & minerals (most Brits need D3 during winter months, plus many are deficient in B12, B6, magnesium, iodine & omega 3 fatty acids). As I was already working on other lifestyle factors, I'm hoping this lamp will be the final piece of the puzzle.I'll try and remember to add an update in a few week's time to comment on any longer-term effects, but, so far, so good :)Conclusion: this tiny & low-priced lamp seems well made, is just as effective as my previous much larger model, and is incredibly easy to use, store or carry around.

Taishan Anson Electrical Appliances Co Ltd
This SAD lamp is nice looking, compact and feels pretty well made. The green stand clips on to any of the four sides and can be slid up and down giving an almost infinite range of angles, which is rare on these lights. The clip can also be reversed so that the light points downwards, which I find handy and no other lamps that I have seen can do.The light is bright, but does require sitting pretty nearby to get any good effect. On/off operation, plug in and simple as can be. Comes with a cloth bag to prevent scratching in transport. It stays surprisingly cool even after several hours of being on. People complaining about the fact that it cannot run on batteries clearly have no concept of the power consumption/cost/size issues. The item is made in China, not Germany as the Beurer GmbH branding would suggest. Not only made in China, but not even made by Beurer, they just use their name for branding. Label states this is made by "Taishan Anson Electrical Appliances Co Ltd" with an address in China. Disappointing.Otherwise is a useful and simple light that could be of benefit to you during the winter months. I have yet to really evaluate the long term benefits myself, but so far am encouraged.

It makes me happy
I truly love this little lamp. I bought it at the start of winter and really think it helped me through it, a little warmth and sunshine to get you through the dark months.Even if it is just a placebo - it still did the job, and in the UK the winters are long so every little helps. Easy to use and sits nicely on your desk.If you have SAD or even if you feel a little down in the winter this is a good little lamp to try help with that - also the NHS is free so if the lil lamp doesn't do the trick there's always that.

Excellent functionality
I’ve had one of the OG Lumi lamps for years. While I liked it, being limited to 30 min wake up simulation was annoying as I found myself waking up long before my alarm time. It also got very hot. This does everything I wanted and better! It’s a really compact but bright light. The choice of 10, 20, 30 sunlight simulation is the main reason I bought it! Choice of two alarms for weekday and weekend is great too.The speakers are good however the lowest volume is still quite loud for radio. You can choose to wake up to chime, beep, birds, radio or no noise. I prefer no noise. The sleep sunset sleep setting you can set for 15, 30, 60mins and it ends with a red light which is very relaxing. I haven’t tried the sleep noises. You can also dim or turn off the display at night.I’ve gotten rid of my beside lamp as this is touch and you’ve many lighting options. It doesn’t get hot either. My only con would be that it can be confusing to get your head around some settings at the start. But once you set it up once it’s easy and intuitive. The instructions are goodI think the price is fair as it’s decent quality and doesn’t feel flimsy. I can’t comment on battery life as I leave it plugged in.
