Coffee alternative
Taste is not bad for coffee alternative especially if you are on medications that is not good with caffeine and you like the taste of coffee.

Okay substitute
Drinking as a coffee substitute as I've been told to avoid coffee. It's sweet in taste so needs no added sweetener. The taste reminds me of the cheaper powdered coffee with chicory. It's okay but probably not for everyone. It's good for those who need to avoid coffee and caffeine but you might find it too sweet if your normally not adding sweeteners to your drink.

Great For Those Of Us Who Can't Have Coffee
A ristretto was always my go-to but after an illness, I discovered I could no longer tolerate coffee at all. Not even a lungo.I resigned myself to a coffee-free life. And then I discovered Whole Earth's No Caf Coffee Alternative. Made with malted barley, chicory, rye, and figs, it's a more than acceptable substitute.Admittedly, it's not a direct replacement for freshly ground and brewed coffee, and I do have to use 2-3 teaspoons in order to get a decent-tasting beverage but I'm not complaining. It means I can have a delicious coffee-flavoured drink without any negative consequences. Plus, because it has no caffeine, I can drink it in the evenings. And that gives me a very big happy!(Do note that it is not gluten-free, though.)

Very pleasantly surprised
I decided to trial giving up caffeine after reading Why we Sleep. I didn't think I had a particular problem with caffeine - I used to have one freshly brewed americano in the morning and several cups of regular tea during the day. So I was surprised at the two days of thumping headaches and horrible lethargy I experienced going cold turkey. I decided to try the Whole Earth coffee alternative to replace my morning coffee and I have been really pleasantly surprised! I'm astonished at the coffee flavour given it's been no where near a coffee bean. Ok it's no flat white, more like regular instant but it's creamy, frothy and enough like coffee to make me feel I'm not missing out. Nice I can enjoy it at any time of day without it impacting sleep. And my 9 year old son really enjoys it (with ADHD and anxiety caffeine affects him very badly). Buying 3 at once was a bit of gamble but it was handy being able to take a jar into work too. Suffice to say, after a week of being caffeine free I feel so good (bright in the mornings, calmer and digestion issues settled) I see no reason to return to caffeine and I will continue to buy and enjoy Whole Earth coffee alternative as part of my non- caffeinated hot beverage repertoire.
