I did get the sponges for my pond filter as they're are large enough to cut to size. A good price with free delivery. Did also arrive early. Excellent product.

I got a sheet of this to make filters for my shower / bathroom ceiling extractor vents. Looking up inside the vent hose you can see the solid accumulation of lint from towels etc. loading up the non return flaps. It coats everything. I measured and cut out a circle and put it inside each vent. They’re already filtering the air even after only a couple of weeks. They can be easily washed out. And they also act as effective silencers. I’m pretty sure there’s little airflow restriction.

Good for intended use

I ordered this with the idea of making up my own filter blocks for my Superfish Aqua Flow 100, as the cost of two official replacement cartridges is around double the price of this stuff. I was set for a lengthy wait for it to arrive, but it came much sooner than expected, so well done to the supplier.I cut suitable size squares and managed to fit 3 layers in the cartridge. I cut a hole in the middle layer to put some activated carbon in and the whole things is working like a dream. The old filter sponge was causing the filter to struggle, making it very noisy with a chugging sound and the water flow kept slowing down, even after cleaning. I found that I was having to clean it every day. Since using this foam, I haven't touched it now for 3 days and the water is still flowing clear and fast.I am very happy with this foam as it's an ideal replacement and there's enough to last for ages.

Foam is good value and didnt take too long consdering where it came from. Packaging is not the best as the foam took a set. Worst issue its not large cell as photo.

I will certainly buy this again. Cut to fit any filter size. Have used this for a while and no signs of deteriorating.

good sponge

I bought the product to use in a fluvel 3, that I use in my indoor Aquarium. I just cut it to size roll it up and that's it. Plenty for the next 6 months, then I'll just order another.

This sponge is cheaper to replace than those disposable filter cartridges for hang on back filters. It is porous but rough and is not the same type as those smooth cylinder sponge filters with the bubble tube. It will be more effective with a layer of floss and bio media. It might need two layers if using this alone. Just cut these up to the right size and it will last for a while.
