The Christmas Story (Candle Bible for Kids)

Great little story with enough detail to satisfy a 4 year old and explain the real Christmas nativity story. Only 4 stars because on the last page it mentions king Herod wanting to hurt people but nothing else about him, if it had ended on the page before I wouldn't have had to spend another ten minutes explaining who Herod was and that everything was going to be ok (!). Some details probably better not yet explained fully to a 4 year old girl! Otherwise very happy with this.

This is a good book to introduce small children to the nativity story with clear pictures and short paragraphs on each page. It goes from Mary and the angel Gabrielle to their escape from Bethleham (King Herod's search for first borns). My 2 year old likes the pictures and we have read it a number of times since first getting it. My only criticism is that the book itself seems a litle flimsy. I would've preferred it to be hardcover for little hands to handle.

The book is a nice book for kids but the end is confusing where Jesus is suddenly not a baby any more. It didn't make sense to me, let alone my children.

Brilliant for our Mums and Tots Christmas present, so that the young ones know why we are celebrating.

My grandchildren loved this little storybook.

This is perfect for younger children. The illustrations are a bit cutesy but the language is perfect for a three year old to really be able to engage with and start to understand the Christmas story.

Well illustrated cartoon version of the nativity story. Ideal to read aloud. this will make a perfect stocking filler gift.
