Philips HQ110 Cleaning Spray

I purchased a relatively expensive Phillips shaver earlier in the years which works very well. I wanted to maintain its efficiency as best as I could and did a fair amount of reserach and purchsed this.It does not come out as a solvent based thin lubricant as some people have expected and I purchased this bearing it in mind. It is an oilier foam that you just squirt for less than a second and leave it to dry. I tend to clean my razor at the weekend, brush all of the bristles out, wash it, dry it and then left it to be open until the evening. I now give it a quick squirt and leave it til the evening and then reassemble the razor head.Whether it works or not I do not know but I am happy to use it. It has a pleasant fragance to it, akin to aftershave and is very subtle. Giventhe amount you use it'd be some years I reckon before its empty so I think the value for money is there.Arrived quickly from overseas, Germany I think.

An excellent product for cleaning and lubricating your shaver. Much better than cleaning your shaver with water because it is solvent based it you don't need to dry the shaver and it lubricates and protects at the same time. It has a very pleasant smell. Braun make a similar product, but it is more expensive.

This lubricating / cleaning spray has a nice scent to it. If you have a Phillips shaver / beard trimmer or similar then this is a good purchase. After a thorough brushing a quick spray is all you need to keep your shaver or trimmer cutting head clean, lubricated and smelling nice. It's quite expensive for what it is but a little goes a long way so in terms of cost effectiveness it's actually fairly good. The can is also fairly small so while it's probably not possible to fly with it as it's a pressurised container, it would be useful for domnestic holidays as it would be relatively easy to slip in to a wash bag for a few days away from home.

Recently I have had difficulty getting this so I turned to Braun and got my shaver cleaned.

I ordered this after acquiring a new Philips rotary razor in order to maintain the cutting blades with an occasional cleaning regime. The blade edges don't so much as get blunt as accumulate a thin skin of matter ( not visible to the naked eye ) after a month or so of shaving. This spirit based spray will dislodge that stuff with the additional help of a small soft brush and the thing that you thought was not giving you a close shave anymore will again do so. Well, that's the theory but I haven't had the razor long enough to try it out just yet. The blades won't stay sharp for ever anyway ( maybe 20-24 months with everyday shaving ) so replacements would then need to be sourced rather than a whole new shaver, if you want to save some dosh.Eamonn

Ok for shaver refreshing smell after

I have quite greasy skin/stubble which means my shaver head often stinks after a few days despite my washing it under the tap after each shave. I don't know how well this spray acts as a lubricant but it certainly leaves my shaver smelling clean and fresh and that's good enough for me! i was originally going to buy the Philips cartridge cleaning system but this is a fraction of the price and as far as I'm concerned does the job just as well!
