Taste the salt, but not the caramel.
This chocolate has a rich dark chocolate taste and a hint of saltiness. This chocolate is advertised as being infused with their Ayurvedic Nighttime blend. It's made with organic fair trade cacao beans and also contains Gaba, Saffron, Chamomile and lemon balm. The chocolate tastes okay, but i don't get a caramel flavor at all. i've tried several flavors by this brand, and this one is my least favorite. i'm not sure if it's the herbal additions to the chocolate that affect the flavor, but this one just doesn't taste as good as the others. The squares are bite size small. The box they comes in opens as a display. Each chocolate pieces are individually packaged. At the current price these are $2 per square of chocolate so the value is not the best. Even with the added ingredients and the organic & fair trade certification, i'm not sure they are worth the price. The chocolate is okay, i do like that it's organic and the ingredient list looks good. For being sea salt caramel i don't see any caramel in the ingredients, just natural flavor. So i'm not sure what that means. i do taste a hint of sea salt, which is nice. The packaging is great if you are planning to resell. Each box contains 30 squares.

Limited & Simple Ingredients!
It seems so counter productive to eat chocolate to sleep, no? I mean…we usually think of it more to energize. Who would have thought to add calming ingredients to make it a nighttime snack?First thing that deserves a shout-out are the ingredients. Organic, simple & limited, just how I like it. They are also fair trade certified. The box states that the flavor of these is Caramel Sea Salt. While I don't personally taste Caramel, there's definitely Sea Salt flavor to them. The dark chocolate flavor is really good! Has that slight bitterness that I love and not so sweet like milk chocolates. The texture isn't the soft chocolate that melts easy but more of a crisp. It does, however, melt away in your mouth after chewing. A+ for flavor, though I wouldn't mind more caramel. I didn't notice any icky aftertaste either. Now for the purpose of the square. Though these aren't going to knock you out (at least for me), they do seem to be calming and relaxing. They will probably help you wind down and maybe fall asleep. They also seem to help get a better night's sleep. That being said, they aren't strong. They simply 'help'. However, these are far tastier than really any other alternative. So if you're looking for something to just aid in falling and having a restful night's sleep, these may help. If you want something that literally puts you to sleep shortly after taking and keeps you in a deep sleep, I don't think these will do that unless you're sensitive to the GABA/saffron/chamomile/lemon balm! Zzzzzz...

Chocolate texture and taste are just okay, didn't help me sleep, and yet very pricey
You're paying a premium price for the ingredients added to the chocolate, and if they help you, then it might just be worth it. I didn't notice any difference in my mood or ability to sleep after eating one of these, other than how I'd normally feel after eating some chocolate. For me, the high price is at least partially justified by this being fair trade certified and organic, but the taste just can't justify it over other fair trade chocolates. As for the chocolate itself, I'd say it's okay but a bit weird tasting. I do like dark chocolate, with ~70% being my favorite, so this is right in there. Yet, I don't like this much. The added ingredients add a strange taste that I don't particularly like. The texture is a bit hard, and while not what I'd call "chalky," it's closer to that description than anything near being smooth.I like the mission that they state on their website in terms of making the world a better place, but I'm not willing to pay four to five times as much for average-at-best chocolate for that. I'd rather have good chocolate and donate my time/money to good causes. That's just a personal preference on my part, but I do appreciate if they're trying to make a difference.

Chocolate at bed time?
I've recently been adding melatonin to my bed routine as I've found it gave me a more restful sleep. Adding it in the form of chocolate was a no-brainer for me. Does it work as well as my pills, maybe not, but I sure don't mind combining them. As far as value goes, it doesn't quite add up for me but I'm glad I gave it a try.

Not what I expected
I was hoping these could replace my melatonin to go to sleep but unfortunately not. I work nights so sleeping when the sun is up can be hard. I was hoping these little expensive bites would help. They have a slight caramel flavor then overtook by very bitter dark chocolate, with no salt flavor. The bites didn't do much for helping me sleep or fall asleep. These might work better for people on a normal routine.

Needs to list how much of each ingredient
I have tried several versions of this brand of chocolate now and have to say that I'm disappointed that none of them list how much of the "headliner ingredients." In this one it highlights GABA, Saffron, and Lemon Balm which isn't as big of an issue as the other one with things like ashwagandha but I'd like to know how little/much is in the chocolate.I was intrigued by this one specifically since this one was melatonin free. I realized a few years ago I cannot take melatonin as I get stomach aches from it. Lately I haven't been sleeping as well so I tried taking this immediately after dinner as a light dessert to see if it had any effect. I would say that it did help get me to sleep a little easier but I didn't really stay asleep for long. Therefore I'm not sure that it really did work vs. just a placebo. In terms of the chocolate it was a decent chocolate. It had a nice mouthfeel to the chocolate though I really didn't taste the caramel sea salt in this chocolate.Overall this chocolate is on the pricey side and I'm not sure it actually helped me sleep. That being said it's still chocolate though so...Earth Echo Rest Chocolate Bliss Bites - Melatonin Free Organic Dark Chocolate Bars Sleep Supplements For Adults with GABA Supplements, Saffron Supplements & Lemon Balm - Melatonin Gummies & Sleep Gummies For Adults Alternative - Deep Sleep Supplement
