Playing Cards UK - 3 x Deck of Cards, Superior Cartamundi Linen Finish, Easy To Shuffle & Durable, Multipack Red & Blue, Great Gift For Games Night

When I first saw these on Amazon, 3 packs of cards for £4.99 I was dubious. However, I was recently on holiday and the place I stayed at had an unopened pack there for guest so I gave them a look, they were excellent. These are Cartimundi cards so not an unknown brand. The ones on holiday were produced in Belgium but sadly Cartimundi have moved their production out of Europe to China (Tut, tut!). The ones here on Amazon are produced in China. I though for £5 for 3 packs it's worth a look. What can I say, I don't understand any negative reviews. These cards are sturdy and well made. The people that have left negative reviews regarding the size are obviously not familiar with the "Bridge" size deck. These cards are slightly smaller than a "Poker" size standard deck, the reason for this is that each Bridge hand takes up a quarter of the deck (13 cards) which makes this deck great for, not just Bridge, but for all Rummy games too, any game that calls for a large amount of cards in one hand. Going back to the sturdiness, I not only play a lot of card games, I also use cards a bit like a fidget cube/toy, so I have been riffle shuffling these cards non stop and they really are tough, no issues whatsoever. I would seriously choose these cards over Bicycle or my favourite brand Waddingtons. At £5 for 3 what have you got to lose. Really great value.

This is the type of playing card you want. The 'linen' finish means the cards are easy to use straight out of the box. No bending the cards to separate them and no plastic layer causing them to stick to each other. The feel and thickness is nice to touch and you can feel the quality. Appearance is clean and crisp. A very reasonable price for 2 decks. Highly recommend.

Value for money, pleasant pattern and colours and handy size but do tend to pick up dirt and stick together if used on a regular basis. Would be good for occasional use but if wish to use on a daily/regular basis probably better to buy more durable cards.

This review is based on home use, I cannot speak to professional use, I really have no idea but for some games of whist & Gin rummy at home these are good set of cards. I particularly liked the large numbers, and the cards are smooth which I am informed means they are laminated. There are several packs in this set, which is handy as we are always loosing some, and I wanted some spare to use in art projects. Each set has their own box. Oddly, they come with 3 jokers, it may be that we are all waaay to old, ( ok we are all rather old) but we were expecting 2 so we took 2 out and then shuffled, the third one appeared which led to much hilarity and jovial accusations of card sharkery, but thought I would mention it in case other people are only expecting 2. Good sturdy set, well made, and you also get both black & red sets ( the backing) in this bundle of packs in case anyone has a preference.
