Innsbruck Flannelette Scandinavian Grey King Quilt Duvet Cover and 2 Pillowcase Brushed Cotton Bedding Bed Set, Grey

When this arrived I immediately put it on my bed as it was the middle of winter & I was desperate for (hopefully) the extra comfort & warmth good old fashioned flanelette bedding would provide. I wasn't disappointed, it was sooo soft & snuggly & much warmer than my usual smooth cotton bedding. My only complaint at that time was the seemingly tons of fluff that the bedding was shedding daily, making it necessary to vaccuum both the bed & bedroom daily (it really was everywhere!). The problem arose after washing it all for the first time (on the exact heat & settings recommended on the label) I replaced the bedding on the bed (still winter/still cold) but on getting into bed that night I discovered that the lovely soft brushed cotton had become almost like sandpaper. The "brushed" part of it had gone into bobbles/pills (you know, like you get on jumpers & fleece that you shave away with those little machines) & the bobbles weren't soft, but quite hard & scratchy, leaving me feeling like I was being sandpapered rather than softly cocooned. I admit I do have sensitive skin, but it reminded me instantly why I'd always hated flanelette & had refused to sleep in it anymore as a very young child. My husband doesn't feel like he's getting sandpapered (although how he would through his body hair I'm not certain?) but he does admit that the bedding is no longer soft & snuggly. he could live with it, but I cannot, so it's back to my lovely, albeit chilly in the winter, smooth cotton bedding & an extra blanket for warmth.

I bought this as a present for my son, and he likes the colour, pattern, and feel of it, and would like a second set, but I refuse to buy another of this because all the button holes were poorly stitched and frayed after only two washes. As this means having to wash and dry it on the same day, and put it back on the duvet - can anybody suggest a better-made similar king-size, flannelette duvet cover for under £30?

lovely bedding, really soft and warm perfect for a Winters night. It washes really well. I have this in red and is still like new so ordered in grey. Unfortunately the colour doesn't quite match the picture and is more of a browny grey so had to send that one back.

I was a little disappointed. I bought the grey and it definitely has a hint of “taupe”. It is not that thick and it is not that soft compared to other brushed cotton items I have bought in the past. It is okay, especially for the price and not so bad that I would bother returning it.

Arrived promptly. Washes well. Nice and cosy. Leaves white fluff on clothes and on the carpet around the bed. I've only washed this once, I hope the fluff situation stops after the next wash as its a lovely duvet cover but I'm fed up having to keep sticky rollering my clothes after sitting on the bed.

This is a really pretty set and is quite comfortable but it got piles on it from the first wash. Not the most fantastic quality I'm afraid. I'm not bitter about it and continue using it but it's not fantastic.

I just love this brushed cotton duvet. Its so soft and warm and comfortable, The pattern is beautiful - nordic in influence- and could be reversed if you so wished. Having used it and washed it several times I can say its brilliant quality - hasnt bobbled as some brushed cotton sheets do and has retained its shape and colour perfectly. A really good quality product and I wouldnt hesitate to order another.

I love it! It's soft and warm . Perfect for winter. Shame is only 2 pillow cases.
