Q: Is the arb linx required to use this pressure control system?

No you can use it alone. I have mine set up on my JEEP and it works great I set the air pressure I want and it does the rest.

Q: Ok so im an idiot, cant determine for sure what size threaded fittings this thing uses? Is it 1/8 bsb? I curently run 1/4 npt on all my fittings?

All the tapped ports in the manifold are 1/8 BSP. I believe the kit comes with one male-male 1/8 BSP to JIC-4 adapter. It’s possible it comes with an additional male-male 1/8 BSP to 1/4 NPT, but I can’t recall for sure.

Q: Can I install the control unit in the engine compartment?

Yes. The instructions suggest that the control unit be placed "high in the engine bay or on the inside of the vehicle". They also state that the control unit be placed within 1 meter (39 inches) of the switch (dash mounted) as measured through the firewall.

Q: Could I use this system to control airbag helper springs in my truck?

I would say yes it has a deflate and inflate solonoid and is installed between the compressor and whatever you want to control. The fittings are not sae or metric they are different so you will need adapters
