Excellent looking/feeling bag. We will see if it holds up over time though.
I received this item last night so I am hesitant to give it anything other than 3 stars for the time being as I feel like a review on a product like this should express the experience of rigidity and longevity of use. I will give my first impressions of the bag though as they are quite good.Upon opening the Amazon box, I found the bag wrapped in a clear plastic cover with no branding or anything. There is also no branding on the bag anywhere which I LOVE. It adds the aesthetic and feeling of being an ole trustworthy leather bag, which is what I was looking for.The buckles and clips on the strap appear to be brass or at the very least some sort of brass substitute. Hard to tell because they feel a bit light. They seem sturdy though and compliment the look of the bag.The leather as far as I can tell is pretty nice. Very nice actually. Good scent and feel. It's pretty stiff right out of the box but I am sure it will loosen up over time and honestly I look forward to putting it through it's paces in that regard. The buckles on the pockets that lock to the flap of the bag seem to be pretty good. Again, I am not sure how they will hold up over time but based on the design and how they are attached, it seems like it will hold up just fine. And it's a pretty elegant, easy to use design. The strap itself feels good and keeps its length pretty well when adjusted. I carried my stuff for work in it today and the strap, again, didn't change length on me. The shoulder pad on the strap isn't anything to write home about in terms of comfort. Its just 2 pieces of leather sandwiched on each side of the strap with some stitching. This is the part of the exterior that would worry me the most in terms of durability. But it looks and feels fine for now.The lining is a thin checkered fabric which is attractive but feels like it could be susceptible to snagging and tearing if you kept sharp corners in your bag. The same material lines the pockets of the bag and this would be my biggest gripe so far. The lining is sewed on in such a way that it sits snug against the zipper of the 2 pockets. There are also feathered parts of the fabric right where it meets the zipper so it's pretty much begging to get snagged in the zipper unless you go out of your way to tuck them in while you zipping and unzipping. This bothers me but I also don't feel like it's something I can't live with. It's an 80 dollar, all leather bag which to me presents a pretty good value. I can handle trimming the loose ends and even mending some of the fabric if need be. But I also have the tools to do so, so this may be a real deal breaker for someone who is looking for something a bit more perfect and put together.Everything else checks out for me though. I was feeling a little bit of buyers remorse when I found the KomalC bag on Amazon. It had so many good reviews and the lining looked a little better. But once I received this one, I felt pretty good about it. I feel happy with my purchase and think this will serve me well. The handle is sturdy and attractive. All the leather looks great and feels good. Great scent to it as well. It fits my belongings just fine, has plenty of room in the front pockets, looks awesome. The only thing that I have to worry about going forward is going to be the lining and the durability of some of the moving parts, buckles, ect. As of right now I'd say it was worth purchasing and I look forward to putting it though some hell to see if it holds up.Update 7/23/2018:So far this has held up quite nicely. I've been taking this to work every single day, tossing it in the car and putting it through its paces. The fabric is holding up fine which was an initial concern. The leather looks better each passing day that it sees wear and use. I was contacted by the seller via email to talk to them before giving anything less than a 5-star review and incentivized with a leather journal if I did so. While I understand that their concern comes from a good place, I think that approach is pretty off putting and disingenuous. Makes me wonder what lengths other merchants will go through to get more stars on their listings. I am bumping my review up to 5-star from 3 because I genuinely believe it's deserved. (I doubt i'll get their freebie anyway lol). But I would recommend that the merchant be weary of incentivizing 5-star reviews with freebies and handouts. It's not a very appealing practice in my eyes. In regards to the bag though, it's been a great daily driver and most if not all of my initial concerns have not been an issue thus far. Though I will say that the zipper on the top of the bag is pretty useless if you plan on putting more than 1 or 2 books in this thing.

Elegant Workhorse
This bag came out of the box excellent. I have used this for two years now and has been amazing. Looks good, strong, lasts. My clasp broke and they took care of me by sending me a new one right at the one year mark almost to the day. Amazing customer service.

Great price, awesome bag, but watch the clasps
I purchased the 15-inch Retro Buffalo Hunter Messenger Bag. It arrived on time. I bought it for my husband, and he absolutely loves it. It has a rugged feel and look that outshines the average leather bag. The color is slightly lighter than the image portrays, but still a rich brown color. The bag feels as thick heavy leather should. The frame of the bag is more rigid while the flap is soft and flexible. The strap is still stiff, but I imagine it will become more flexible over time. It gives the impression of an "Old West" saddlebag, sturdy, weather-beaten and well-traveled.The only problem that we had was that the clasps would slip through and the bag would open if pulled. By pulled I mean that when Hubby put items in the bag (an iPad and some pads of paper) and lifted it the clasps would slip through the openings. We rectified this by gluing some leather on the back of the clasps (see pix) to make them fit more snugly. It was an easy fix, so I did not see reducing the rating to 4 stars because of this one glitch. We probably could have fixed this issue by flattening the clasp holder (the metal bar that holds the clasps in place), but we didn't want to take the chance of ruining the finish or breaking them.Overall, I would highly recommend this bag to anyone, the interior is spacious and lined with a gender neutral pattern. Had I known how awesome this bag was I might have bought one for myself too! I still might!

It isn't the same as the picture. But it is a very good looking bag.
I spent a long time looking for a new bag. My old Bag of Holding canvas bag was finally starting to get a little too shoddy to carry around every day. So, I decided to look for something with flair as well as function. Which is how I ended up here. (Probably how you got here, too. You saw the pictures and thought, "Dang! That's a cool looking bag!") The pictures of the bag in this listing ARE very cool. The straps are all faded and the bag is mottled. It just looks like it has a story. Like your great grandfather Swearengen gave this bag to a rider to bring the smallpox vaccine back to Deadwood. Or Postman Costner carried mail across the apocalyptic landscape in it. I get it. I thought the same thing when I saw the pictures. And I don't want to say that this bag doesn't actually look like this. But mine doesn't. I do see some customer images where it does. User Tanya, for instance (who happens to have the first image I see in the customer images gallery) has a photo that looks very similar to the picture! User Samantha also has a bag featuring that well worn look of a well-loved bag. If you find the photo from user Travis Stewart or Brandon McLeod, however, you will see what my bag looked like when it arrived. It was not mottled and well worn. Instead, it was reminiscent of a chocolate labrador puppy. (Although hopefully in no way related to one!!)It was a very soft brown color. The leather wasn't soft or furry, exactly, but wasn't smooth and shiny as in the pictures, either. I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of it as soon as I unboxed it. Sorry about that. But take my word for it. Similar to those images. After my initial disappointment of not getting Wild Bill Hickock's actual saddle bag, I realized that, even though it wasn't as well worn and mottled and old-timey looking as the picture, it was a nice looking bag! And, since I got it on a Lightning Deal, I decided to keep it.Since it was now mine, my next step was what to do with it. I saw some comments from other bag owners to treat it with mink oil. I did some research to figure out which mink oil. I have to tell you up front... even though I bought a leather bag, I wasn't crazy about the idea of using something made from furry little minks. (Plus, I kept thinking about how it was made -- I kept picturing cartoons where they're squeezing poor furry little minds to get their oil.) As I did more research, I learned that most mink oil (especially the brands you could buy on Amazon) aren't really mink oil at all. They're mostly made from something called Neatsfoot, which is tallow (fat) from mostly beef. So... cow fat. That's what you're about to rub onto your nice new bag. (In reality, that isn't that different from the oil from a freshly squozen mink, right? As it turns out... it is.) Real mink oil has some special properties which make it good for treating leather. I read a LOT of reviews of various products used to treat leather. Some "mink oil" users actually reported a rancid smell from their leather goods after using that oil. Gross. So, I decided against that. But, I knew I had to use something since the leather seemed very "dry." Not dry and rustic like the wild west picture. More dry and "scaly," like when I bumped it against the counter, it left a big "scratch" in the leather. (Scratch in quotes there because it wasn't a dig into the material or anything -- just looked like when you rub something the wrong way.)I moved from mink oil to leather conditioners. And there's a ton of those as well. (I really learned a lot as I was simply trying to find a product to use on my new bag!) I ended up deciding I wanted something reasonably natural and plant-based (as I wanted to avoid potential rancid smells from animal fat), but still effective. I found several such products, but then remembered I actually had some Dr. Marten's Wonder Balsam in my closet from my Doc Marten days. (You don't know me, but that was quire awhile ago.) I checked it out -- all natural, plant based ingredients. Beeswax, coconut oil, and lanolin. I decided to give it a whirl. And I couldn't have been happier with the results. It darkened the bag up from the chocolate lab look to what you see in the pictures (which is much closer to the seller's picture than what arrived in the box.) It also softened up the leather, gave it a nice sheen (but not shiny) and brought out some of the contrast in the leather! It still doesn't look like the picture, but it is a good looking bag that I have gotten compliments on.So, beyond the look (if anyone is still actually reading this), let's discuss some of the features of the bag. It seems to be fairly well made. The inside is not as roomy as I had hoped, but it is certainly enough to carry my laptop, notebooks, pens, charger, etc. (The stuff you need to get through the day.) You're not going to be able to pack it full of clothes for a trip, too, but I am guessing that isn't what you bought it for. (It's not what I bought it for, anyway.) The pouch inside has some padding to it. And, though I didn't expect this, it stands up when you set it down, which is a nice touch.User Tanya pointed out the straps in her review. I didn't understand it until I got the bag, but now her warning makes complete sense. I took a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. The strap to close the bag has a fun little clasp that slides into the bracket on the front of the bag. That clasp is buckled to the strap. But there's nothing really holding that buckle in place. It buckles onto the strap, but when it is open, it is very easy for the buckle to come undone, since nothing is providing tension to keep it closed. This is nothing a little well placed glue couldn't fix, but it is worth mentioning, since if you lose one of those, the bag isn't going to work well.Overall, I gave this bag 4 stars. It doesn't look like the picture. But, with a little work (and some Wonder Balsam), it can look pretty darn good. And it does seem to be well put together. We'll see how it holds up over time. If you're on the fence, my advice is pull the trigger and get yourself a good looking bag!

Worth the investment.
I purchased this a month ago and wanted to wait to write my review. The case is of very sturdy design and craftsmanship. The leather will take some time to break in, but with all quality leather products, that is what it is supposed to do.The interior canvas adds a touch of class and makes storing your gear in the case easy and protected. I heave read complaints about the buckles, and I didn’t experience any of that.I was a backpack guy for almost all of my career and I love this case. It looks much more professional and classy.I recommend the case for anyone looking to up their game and still have the functionality of caring all you need for the office.

Sturdy and stylish
Very sturdy bag in quality hide with excellent capacity - my 14" laptop fits in easily without removing it from the soft case I had bought previously, with enough additional room and compartments for the bag to double as an overnight bag or carry on luggage for flights.Convenient fastenings and additional zips should suffice to keep sneaky little fingers out for an extra bit of security - the buckle fasteners are a decorative feature, by the way, with quick release catches hidden underneath.Comfortable carrying handle and shoulder strap and I have to say that the bag isn't as heavy as it looks but still seems very tough and durable and will hopefully be good for years to come.I would certainly recommend this product.

Te mancha la ropa
La única opción para llevar esta cartera es vestir todo de negro, porque el roce de la cartera mancha de marrón oscuro cualquier prenda que lleves (camisa, vaqueros, chinos, etc.).
