pretty placemats, nice feeling material, lays flat, just what I needed
More or less what I was looking for. I wanted a red/maroon placemat that can absorb moisture if need be. I see so many placemats being a plastic material, or wood like material. Fine for some decorative uses, but I do set drinks down and I want it to pick up any dribbles or sweat. The color is pretty good. Not as deep brown red as I wanted, more purple red. Pretty anyway. The material is soft, thickish, and lays flat out of package (mine anyway). My living room has a lot of deep reds and maroons. I recently moved my dining table into that room, and I wanted to have some placemats to help keep the table protected when I am working on the table. I dont want a table cloth, I just want something I can set my stuff down on. I looked for a pack of placemats and nothing seemed right, or looked right. I wanted some absorbency incase I decide to use as a coaster. A deep red is my thing, and this works for my needs.. I'll get some pictures.

Pucker and don't lay completely flat
This is one of those products that looks better online than in person. Online they look nice and iron flat but in person the side seams pucker a little and doesn't lay completely flat. It's possible that if I iron them they will look like the photos but it seems like a lot of work to just get it to look like how it is pictured.

These are "okay" - a tad "shiny" and need ironing out of the dryer
These placements are decent, but they're a touch on the shiny side, which to me can read a bit "cheap". O'd rather the material be a flat fabric. Anything metallic or shiny screams polyester/manmade materials which is a dead giveaway for lower quality. Also, you will need to iron these out of the dryer. you might be able to get away without ironing if you pull them out of the dryer the they're slightly damp and lay them flat but then you'll need to let them dry overnight. Overall, they're not bad, but just "okay". ~Amy

Poorly made, cheap look and feel
We got these to go on our nice new hardwood table, thinking they would add a touch of class. When we opened them up, we immediately noticed that the cloth felt cheap, almost like polyester. There are also several noticeable dropped stitches and dangling threads in each placemat. We could have forgiven those issues if they looked nice on the table, but they won't even lay flat. It looks like the 2 sides of each placemat aren't the same shape, so they fold and bubble when they're on a flat surface. These went straight into the trash.

Great quality
The quality is much higher then I expected. The color is more of a royal red that can match any decor. If you like red this goes really well with any seasonal decor. White and gold plates for summer and green for Christmas months. The only recommendation is before use lay them flat. They are shipped folded but if they are flat for a little while the wrinkles disappear pretty quickly.
