The Inbetweeners Movie [DVD]

Amazingly funny.
As a fan of "The Inbetweeners" since it first aired a few years back, i've seen this show grow bigger and bigger every year. The last series (the 3rd) had 2.5 million viewers per ep on E4 which is a huge rating demographic for a freeview only channel and by far the most successful show they've shown. The 3rd series however, although good, wasn't as funny as the first two and i was worried that a movie version might just de-rail this show once and for all given horrible past efforts like "Kevin and Perry go large" and a few others to shocking to mention!I needn't have worried, as about 5 mins in my fears were allayed and the following 90 mins were better than all the laughs from the 3rd series put together! What amazed me more is that this film actually did have a proper story to it, not just a loose plot strung together by lots of dick and fart jokes, this film actually has a heart and i've never liked the lads or sympathised with their plight more than in this film, especially plonkerite Simon who goes through the mill and finally wakes up at the end up to what we've known for years!..lolBasically they've taken what worked about the tv show, turbo charged it and in my opinion have revitalised it and taken it to the next level. Even if you've never seen an episode, it's not essential (though it helps) to get into the story.Unbelievably somewhat this film has become the biggest uk film of all time! I always thought this would be moderately successful but the success the movie had is nothing short of amazing!!Will we get a sequel? - Well the writer's beforehand said that this was the end of the road for the lads but after making gazillions at the box office, don't bet against it!!

A perfect finale to one of Britain's best sitcoms
Will, a self confessed geek, is trying to prove that he's not as weird as everyone thinks. Simon, a truly hopeless romantic is trying to get over his recent break-up with Carli, his childhood sweetheart. Jay is out to finally get some real clunge, and Neil wants to become a better swimmer. Together they are The Inbetweeners - four tragically uncool teenagers who have finally finished their exams and are off to celebrate their new freedom by way of a lads holiday to Greece.Wedgies, delayed flights, substandard accommodation and weird fellow holiday makers set the scene before the boys meet four girls in the emptiest bar in Malia. As Will punches far above his weight, Jay has weight issues of an entirely different kind. Simon bumps into his ex, Carli, and Neil is lured by Malia's answer to mutton dressed as lamb. What ensues is a hilarious romp as the awkward quartet try to score a balance between getting outrageously drunk, and getting finally laid.Fans of the award-winning hit sitcom series which preceded the film will not be disappointed, as the gags are familiar and the characters remain true to form. Newcomers to the title will still be able to enjoy the film to the fullest. The script is well written. The score, packed full of party anthems and original material by Mike Skinner (of The Streets fame) is as catchy as it is appropriate for the mood of the film. The editing is seamless and the screenplay flows well. The Inbetweeners will have you laughing the whole way through, from the "Ham and snorkel" scene to Simon's rescue by the coastguard. The path to true love is never a smooth and easy one.

Hooray, for not ruining the series with a bad film!
I love the inbetweeners.Of course I do.It's effing brilliant, isn't it?!I was so excited for this movie and sat in anticipation as it came on in the cinema.I guess I expected something similar to Kevin and Perry Go Large, but more modern.I think the film is watchable by people who've never seen the show, and the characters have their own introductions. Is it as good as the show? No, it's not. But it's up there. The back-and-forth humour could have felt stale after an hour and a half, but the directors knew what they were doing and therefore this didn't happen. So, it's a lads' holiday set in Malia (though, filmed somewhere else and made to look like Malia). They all want to get laid.Simon is still trying to get over Carlie.Neil has an amazing line in this film...Simon says (no, we're not playing a game here) "You should bring your ball to the beach Neil"Neil: "Can I will?" (So funny)Will: "Yes Neil... Yes you can"Will is chasing a girl clearly out of his league. I love Will the most. Witty, nerdy and extremely lovable.Jay is most keen to 'get it onnnnn' with the ladies, and acts like a bit of a douche in the film... a lovable douche.(Yes, I love all these guys). The film includes sex, LOTS OF HUMOUR, fall-outs, stupid bits, AMAZING DANCE MOVES and much more.If you haven't seen this yet, BUY IT.Or else.... I WILL KEEP PRESSING CAPS LOCK AND USING EXPLANATION MARKS!!!!!!!!!!!Great film, and good to watch with friends/family.5 *s

Excellent spinoff movie from a brilliantly funny TV series!
Always enjoyed the Inbetweeners TV series, finding them extremely amusing and well acted.I also often found them to be poignant and accurate depictions of what it can be like growing into teenagers.I saw this at the pictures when it was first released, with my then teenage son, back in 2011?We both wondered how it would work on the Big Screen - spinoff movies are often not a patch on the TV series. However, we needn't have worried as the film played out like an extended TV episode.Easily 4/5 for humour, touching relationships and Jay's surprising holiday romance - being very poignant!Shame there wasn't a bigger role for Mr Gilbert - he's very funny in his cameo role but more from him would have made this a 5 star experience!!Still, it's a very sold 4 star film and comes 100% recommended!Especially at its current bargain price!

Great Movie!
After watching the entire series on netflix i was hoping that the movie would not fall short. And boy it didn't. British TV is so different from American TV they spend more time on the writing and character development and less on production value. That is why one easily falls in love with the characters. They are so funny. Your typical teeneagers just wanting to drink and get laid. I absolutly love the series and the movie was just as good.

If you know the show, you'll understand- "Friends!" with two thumbs up.
I'm not surprised this got a very limited release in US theaters and didn't do that well, but the movie is a great continuation of the series by the same name. The characters are at turns pathetic jerks and likeable. The Inbetweeners characters come closest to the sort of friends I had in school and the first few years afterwards than any other show.

The Inbetweeners
It was a long wait but well wort it. The Inbetweeners is just amazing. How many times have we watched a great show fall down as soon as it moves to the big screen? This is not the case with this movie. If you love the show, you will love the movie. I just hope that it is the beginning of a sting of great sequels.

The Inbetweeners go on Holiday
These guys get hoodwinked out of their vacation clothes, money, and dignity while trying to score while on an extended holiday on Crete. They go from one bad situation to another, pretty much like their TV episodes until they finally get what they came for. An irreverant, funny movie that you will enjoy if you are a fan of the series.

if you dug the tv series, you'll probably like the movie
it was pretty much what you'd expect from an inbetweeners movie. If you dug the tv show, you'll probably dig the movie. The dvd extras were kind of lacking.
