Excellent item
I bought this for my 88 year old mum. Firstly, the product was not too heavy to move whilst still in its box. Once I had opened, the box it was easy to assemble by myself (a 60 year old woman). Instructions were easy to follow and mum had a dummy run with it to make sure she was happy with it. It is important to have the dummy run in a dry bath, just in case you need to send it back. Once it is wet, it cannot be returned. Mum was very pleased and said it was comfortable. She was slightly worried that it would slip in the bath but I showed her the suction cups and demonstrated it wouldn't move. Mum was especially pleased to find it allowed her to lean back in the bath. I did find it easy to remove, although it would be too heavy for mum to do it on her own. Mum uses it regularly. I think it would benefit from having a waterproof visual reminder of how to use the item that included how to charge it and maybe spaces for the user to write in where the charger is kept. Especially useful for those with memory problems

A great product at a fair price
This is a superb product, my arthritic wife loves it and uses it frequently. It is well made, rigid and safe. Assembly was easy and operation is simple. Sits firmly on its four pads. Leaves enough space for a shower. We leave it in situ as we are both a little feeble. No hesitation in recommending it. I did a fair amount of research before deciding; I read all the comments on it (and others) and now have some difficulty in understanding the criticisms. The user guide makes assembly very easy and it is not too heavy to put into the bath. The design and construction are both extremely good, it is not at all flimsy. Hasten to say that I have no connection with the makers. Photos show the seat up, down and space left to shower with the seat in the bath. After 6 months use: Superb product, my wife uses it three times weekly for an immersion with Epsom Salt and she loves it. I have used it a few times (18 stone) and it does exactly what it says it should. Very highly recommended.Added comment: August 2020: I stand by my previous comments as the seat has given excellent service. However - I am quite angry with the poor service offered on this product. Some 5 weeks ago, one of the plastic side guides that prevent the rising seat being trapped under the bath handles snapped - probably aged plastic. I emailed the maker and asked for a quote for two of these guides, one to use and one as a spare. I was told by them to contact their UK arm, which I did, repeating my request. Their reply was that they only dealt with trade customers and gave me a link to nearby stockists. I contacted one who told me that they probably had some in stock, later telling me that they had not so would order from the UK company. After chasing them, they said that the company was out of stock but would probably have some available in a month. That would make it about two months that the seat would be unusable. I managed to fit with tape a piece of the original guide but it is not trustworthy. I do not appreciate this very poor service.

Very good value for the money. We use it for fall recovery
My partner has become very unstable due to illness. This product (coupled with a personal alarm button) has made the situation liveable. We mainly use the chair to recover my partner after a fall (outside of the bath situation) It works perfectly. It is slow but that is OK as you don't want to rush recovery from a fall. Highly recommended as a "dry" fall recovery tool.

Well designed and great build quality !
There are many variations of this type of bath lift from many suppliers but I chose this model from Drive Medical for its' outstanding benefits for my particular needs !Firstly..it has one of the lowest seat profiles of its' type ....when the seat is at the lowest position in the bath , the user is only 2.5 inches above the normal bathing level .This means that you may still have a deep soak and the extra reclining angle of the back rest allows for laying back at an extremely comfortable level !Because bath sizes vary and the slope of the actual bath can vary considerably also..... it is important to find a bath lift that will allow the user to enjoy the most comfortable position for bathing !The Bellavita fits the bill insofar as the base and backrest are easily separated for ease of placing in your bath , in a bath with an average sloping back , the seat base can first be placed an inch or two from the base of the slope , then the back rest which houses the waterproof drive unit , will slot easily into the seat unit and when fully reclined to its' 50 degree maximum slope angle it will still clear the rear of the bathtub easily !If your bath has a steeper or shallower slope , the well designed suction feet which are essential to prevent the seat from slipping can be easily released by the two easy to use "lifting tags " which breaks the very firm seal of the suction pads and will allow for easy replacement of the seat to a different position . This is very important for any user with Arthritis in their hands as some suction pads on other models are difficult to remove for people with limited hand function !The Bellavita also has the added benefit of having the other two "front suction" pads designed to " break the seal " automatically by simply raising the seat and lifting it forward which releases it easily !It is lighter than many other units and again , this is important for users with limited dexterity ! It is well engineered and the overall slim design is extremely robust and will carry up to 22 stone bodyweight !The hand control remote unit has an enclosed battery which offers up to six bathing sessions before recharge is needed ....and although this depends on the weight of the user this is still a decent performance .The remote unit is waterproof and will withstand immersion and the connection to the drive unit in the backrest is via a simple " jack plug " connection which is also easy to connect and remove !All round ...a great product that is very well designed and also has excellent back up service for spares or replacements if needed. The instruction manual and colour " Easy Set up " guide are also easy to understand and follow , which in itself is a refreshing change as it covers all aspects of assembly in pictures and clear text instructions . Very competitive pricing too ...A great buy !Hope this info helps you decide !

Bath lift Drive Devilbliss Lightweight recliner
Bought a Bellavita bath lift in December notopened until January as it was a Birthday gift for my husband, absolutely rubbish, doesn't recharge, so be bought another handset , this doesn't work either, we thought it was something we wasn't doing right, got family to check still not working, going to citizen advice on Monday, we want our money back. Both my husband & myself are disabled, and I am having to help get him out of the bath, this is why I bought the lift in the first place.
