Great little torch.
I don't like the little bottle torches that you can get anywhere. The bottles never seem to last and you end up spending nearly as much time changing bottles out as you do working. This tool connects to a larger propane tank--I use a 20 pound grill tank for mine--and works great. I use this for annealing coins for making rings, annealing copper for copper smithing, and for heating small areas on steel when I need a controlled heat for blacksmithing. So far, this has worked great and I am happy with the performance and value. I do not use this to weld and don't know of its capabilities for that application.

Simple, durable, cost effective.
I purchased this to loosen bolts. It is a very good alternative to buying a dual tank system.

shou sugi ban wood preservation
Preserve your outdoor woods with Shou Sugi Ban technique and it is essential to own one of these for tight spaces and hard to get areas. It works extremely well for me. Recommended!

Ok with some things to keep in mind.
Got this torch today. Hooked it up to my LP 5lb tank for a test drive. No leaks and everything looked good. The hose has no memory and it is not cumbersome. As for the operation of the torch, you need to use it at almost full blast or the tip will burn cherry hot. You will have to modify the way you solder since you can not depend only on the inner flame. This thing is a "jet".I only work with 1/2" and 3/4" copper pipe but I have no doubt that this unit will tackle bigger pipe with no issues. I just got to retrain to keep the flame away compared to the TS8000 and the basic pencil tip flame torches.Great price compared to the turbo competition. It will give you an idea if you want to invest in the real thing without spending a lot at first. Tip comparison would be to a T4 or T5.Did not have any issues with the igniter. Overall, good propane set up. Just make sure it has to be almost all the way open so you do not burn the tip and adjust by pulling back on the flame or use the outside flame tip when soft soldering. It is a little beast.

Tank torch
Torch has been in use for about 3 hours running at about 20 minutes at a time burning wood. Has put out a nice even flame using a minimal about of gas to flame size. Hose and fittings seam well made

Love this torch
I've been looking for a tool that would do the job in my blacksmith work. I color metal with a torch and this tool is the cat's ass for the job. I recommend it highly.

Not for amateurs
You need to be careful with this one. It doesn't really have a regulator. Blast off baby. Works good !
