Mother of Invention
I bought this product as a means to "cure" a special adhesive to stick microscope coverslips to slides. The Compact Pro was excellent and completed the curing process in less than 30 seconds. It was also approximately GBP 180 cheaper than the device offered from a scientific supplier. All in all an excellent machine... for my purposes.

Simple and safe
I bought this device because my Bank suggested it is foolish for a retailer not to check currency notes; evidently the current forgeries are very difficult for humans to detect. The note checker sits discreetly by the till and plugs into a standard 3-pin socket. It is sturdily built with flat, little rubber feet which I have fixed to the shelf with blu-tack. The 'On' switch is set into the top of the machine and is easily accessed without making an obvious performance of it. The ultraviolet lamp lights up immediately and emits no buzz or humming. The hood enables me to slip the note under the light very quickly and easily. It is advised to switch off the lamp between transactions, which is no bother at all. I do feel much better for having this simple security check.

Very glad i bought this!
Tis compact UV note checker was good value & although I haven't had it long enought to confirm battery life - it works very well & is very easy to use. it is compant enough to be kept under the counter & used without the customer seeing (if that's important to your customers). i would buy it again & recommend it to anyone accepting cash, in small or larger volumes.Delevered well within the estimated delivery time.

Best note checker I've ever used.
I've been through a few note checkers over the years and this has been the most reliable so far. I bought it 18 months ago and it has been used every day since and the tube only gave out a few days ago. However, the claim that the tube is "easy to replace" is a little spurious. You have to take the whole unit apart to replace it. That said I managed to get it back together easily enough and it's working again. Would recommend.

1 Fake note covers the cost of this- needed everywhere that takes cash
I bought 2 for my work, one at each till. It sits neatly beside my till screen , just behind my keyboard. the cable was long enough for me to feed it down the back of my till to the plug socket below, so nothing there is no cables trailing. Easy switch to flip between the uv light & the white light, and I also turn them off at night. do recommend getting the official sheets from the internet about what to look for under uv light as all the different Scottish banks have different markings, especially the bank of England notes. Within 3 days i had declined 2 Bank of England £20 notes which didn't show up anything. They felt okay and detail looked good which i would of taken previous to the lights. This instantly paid for 2 of the machines. well worth it.

Three Stars
Seems to do the job. Can't comment on life of the bulb. Available cheaper elsewhere.

Perfect small size
This product is great for checking if the money is counterfeit or not. I bought one for my parents chippy so they can quickly place the money in the slot which should reveal the hidden UV security markers on all the bank notes. It helps a lot especially when the notes looks faded or are older with wear and tear. It takes just a second to place the note in the slot to check. If the money is fake most notes will reflect/glow bright blue. You may be thinking it might be hard to tell if its blue or just the UV light but UV light is invisible to the human eye, your only seeing some light because the machine produces some visible near UV/Violent light being emitted which is the visible violet light, on the electromagnet spectrum. The machine as you can see in the photo compared to a £20 note, isn't that big so it great for small places. Overall I highly recommend it.

Any better ideas?
This has already saved me over £100 in fake notes it's detected. Only problem - and this is NOT a criticism of the sellers of this - is with the Police. First couple of notes it detected I reported and passed the notes, CCTV and car number plates of suspects to the police. The case was all set, but the CPS ended up dropping the case at the last minute because the police LOST the fake notes I'd given them. No case without the fake notes to present as evidence. So now I don't know what to do with all these fake notes I get. I don't want to give them back to the customer cause then they'll just try to spend them somewhere else but it doesn't seem worth it reporting to police after what happened when I did report the first time. Only things I can think of are destroying them (shredding or burning). Any better ideas?
