Cotton wins my vote every time
These looms have been around since I was a kid and I've seen versions in metal, plastic and varying level of quality. This is a GOOD one. I ordered for my "just turned 5" granddaughter and she had no problems learning how to use it. She took to it easily and was so proud of the weavings she created. I did have to do the last 3 rows for her, where it gets tight and the hook needs to be used and I also removed it from the loom for her. One thing I especially appreciated was the cotton loops. They are so much nicer than the cheap synthetic ones. So nice that we immediately ordered an additional bag so that she can keep weaving.

Love these cotton loops!
My granddaughter made me this after getting her loom and loops for Christmas.Please note, cotton loops will make nice potholders. Most loops sold nowadays are polyester which will hold heat making potholders made from them not so functional. These are COTTON LOOPS and although they cost a bit more, they are truly worth the money. I also made sure I bought the metal loom so it’ll never crack or break.

Super Cute!
Great refills! Size as expected and colors are sooooo pretty-they look exactly as pictured in the product photo. My only con is that they are pretty expensive and not something we can buy constantly.My kiddos love making them to give as gifts and they do last!

Makes beautiful, unique potholders! Not the potholders you made at summer camp! ;)
These potholder loops are all cotton, so they are great for handling hot pots without melting in your hands. They wash and dry nicely. An especially nice bonus is that the Friendly Loom company has patterns for you to follow in both a booklet provided with the loom kit and online! They also provide patterns for making bathmats and purses out of potholders. I got the Friendly Loom kit for my 94 year old mother, and with some guidance she very much enjoys making these potholders for her family and friends. I also made potholders with my 4 year old granddaughter and it was a fun activity. I have bought several of the other bags of loops like the pastels and the earth tones, and they are all excellent quality.
