A good hard drive to replace one that wasn't working properly.
My wife had a laptop that was less than 3 years old, but it wasn't working properly. It was really slow. I mean s l o w. I ran a scan and it showed that the current hard drive had a load of faults, so bought this hard drive to replace it.Aside from the difficulties of installing a hard drive into a laptop (compared to a pc) the whole problem was without issue. The hard drive worked faultlessly, and it's so much faster than the old one.It does everything it needs to and does it well. More than happy with this.

Compatible with my Sony Vaio.
This saved my Sony Vaio :-) The hard drive was failing and I put a new, bigger hard drive in and had issues. Some Sony Vaio's must have some hidden firmware that means they won't work unless the hard drive is the same as the old one - or at least the same size. Not only would it not accept recovery discs, but it overheated when I tried to do a clean install. I tried two new hard drives in it - a 250GB SSD and 500GB bog standard hard drive. Same issues with both. Eventually I posted on a Sony forum and found I needed the 'same' hard drive. The same hard drive isn't available as it was Sata I. So I bought this one - same make as the old one (Toshiba), same size (320GB), same speed (5400rpm) - the only difference was it was Sata II instead of Sata I. And all is fine - yay. Installed from recovery discs and am up and running again. Hope this helps someone else with similar issues. The Sony's apparently can't handle Sata III hard drives especially if they are 'Advanced Format' which most of them are. They need "Standard Format" which is Sata II or earlier. Very annoying of Sony when our other laptop will take any old drive, any make and any speed. On the other hand, this drive was a good buy - cheap and slightly faster than the old one. A very good buy from a reputable company (Bipra).

Toshiba's little guy still packs a punch
I had bought its bigger brother before, (500gb), and I bought this one because it had a very good price, and I wasn't disappointed. It is just as solid as the bigger one. The installation is as easy as it gets. Just plug it in, and you're all set. Most people would be too young to know, but there was a time when we (old timers) had to set some jumpers, and even check the bad sectors. This one has no jumpers, no compatibility issues, no errors. Plug and play!.This 320gb version still has just a respectable size for a normal user. It turned my expensive paperweight (laptop without a drive) into a laptop for less than 15 quid, and has never given me any trouble. I'm more than happy with this little fella, and I highly recommend it.

Toshiba staff gave me duff info on hardrive
I was told by Toshiba engineers I needed a new hardrive as mine is failing on my Laptop. I still have start up issues and not prepared to take the risk of putting in the new one purchased. I didn't have faith in the Toshiba Engineers and don't understand how some days I have an issue on startup and some days not. All this started after installing a Toshiba utility programme which I then took off and never been able to get the laptop to operate properly. All to do with that subtle selling, you must have this programme at this very good price to assist, we all know that thing called "Bull" and we get sucked in. I will keep the new hardrive and only use it if laptop fails altogether, then I will make up my mind what to do. Probably buy a new computer, not Toshiba.
