BabyDan FlexiFit, 67-105.5 cm, Extendable and Flexible Stair Gate/Baby Gate/Safety Gate, Metal, White, Made in Denmark - (Pet Gate/Dog gate)

I think this gate is brilliant. I don’t have a wall either side of the gate and I still want to be able to shut the door so most gates won’t fit. This one can be fitted on the front of the door frame which solves my problem perfectly.The gate is well designed and sturdy when built and can be adapted to fit a wide range of different doors and openings. I’m a design engineer by profession and would guess that this gate has been designed to adapt to as many different layouts as possible. This does mean it has quite a few parts as requires more careful assembly than most stair gates. It took me about an hour to build and you do need to read the instructions carefully (partly because I wanted it to open the other way so I had to do the mirror image of the instructions and I took time to check this would work before drilling anything). That said I thought the instructions were clear and highlighted important details (all pictures but I prefer this, especially compared to the often poorly translated written instructions you find with a lot of products). I can understand why a lot of reviewers say they found it hard to install but if you’re ok at flat pack furniture and you study the pictures carefully you should be fine.

This gate is great, it's sturdy, easy to open and close one handed and can be trusted not to move unlike pressure gates. The person who gave the gate a bad review saying it was difficult to assemble and that it would leave holes in the wall clearly did not do any research. Gates that screwed into the wall are much more safe as they do not work loose over time and this gate can fit into most doorways. I originally bought one for the bottom of the stairs and then bought another one for the top of the stairs. I am now about to buy a 3rd for our kitchen doorway. My 21 month old son has already worked out how to open pressure fix gates by lifting it and I now need one he cant open!Great service too and yes it does take a bit of looking at the instruction to install but nothing a bit of thinking can't work out!I dont normally leave reviews but wanted to on this product as didn't want people put off by silly bad and ill-informed reviews.

I bought this gate because it can fit across non-standard gaps, as I wanted to fit it diagonally across from a wooden stair post to a door frame at the top of my stairs. I had previously tried fitting a gate from the stair post straight across to the plasterboard wall but the fixings came out of the wall. This is a very solid gate when fitted, I actually prefer it to the other gate I bought. As it fits across the top of the stairs it needs to be robust and I'm very satisfied with it.I read a lot of reviews saying it was difficult to build/fit, so I was prepared for a challenge. But if you read the instructions fully before you start, lay out all the parts into groups, making sure you correctly identify them against the images in the instructions, you should be OK. You could even write the part number on the inside somewhere to be sure. I'd describe my DIY skills as 'intermediate' but I managed to put it together by myself in an hour and a half. One piece of advice I'd give is be logical when hanging the gate. The instructions may imply you should fit the latch side first but this didn't make sense to me, so I fitted the hinge side first so that when I came to fit the other end I was able to manually line them up and adjust the fittings to ensure the gate was level across the gap. This meant I had the two ends of the gate hanging separately for a while, but it made joining them up in the middle easy.Definitely don't be put off by it being difficult to assemble, once done you can be satisfied you have a sturdy and relatively subtle-looking gate. Compared to the other gate I have, it also has a much better mechanism to prevent opening the wrong way, into the stairwell.

Lots of people criticised this product's installation instructions but, if you take your time, they are absolutely fine. Do spend 10 mins checking the parts carefully as several are similar but fit slightly differently. Page 3 and 4 are for standard (approx straight line) fittings, 5 and 6 if you are fitting at a roughly 90 degree angle to the gate. I had one of each so circled the connections on each with a highlighter so I knew which to follow. BabyDan, it would be slightly clearer if you had left and right fixings in different diagram boxes. The gate took a bit of time to install, about 20 mins, with two of us taking our time. You do need 2 screwdrivers as one screws inside another. The screws supplied are for wood, if you are screwing into a wall you will need to get wallplugs as these are not supplied.The gate itself is fabulous. No trip hazard, fits an awkward shape at the top of the stairs and is easy to open. As a bonus there was a leaflet from BabyDan with a free gift for leaving a review that I intended to do anyway! The best bit was it had reduced in my basket when I finally went to buy it!To summarise, use your brain first to make sure you understand the different parts and which diagrams you are following for your home then use common sense working methodically.

Really sturdy and feels safe, smart looking, easy to assemble. Very clever how it so flexibility fits together and would work for a variety of opening sizes. Easy mechanism for opening and closing - important when you usually have a baby in arms!! On the slightly more expensive side but I think good value for money as it's just so good!

Easy to use but installing around skirting is challenging and is too heavy for plasterboard without proper raw plugs. A good gate but check wall type first and be prepared to spend time installing.

Easy to install for a novice diy-er. Love that it doesn't have a lower threshold, so you can't trip over anything. It's compatible to fit against a wall with skirting as the fixings are extendable. It's easy to open, but safe enough that it can't be opened by my toddler. It's pricier than other baby gates but I would still recommend.

Acheté il y a 4 ans on ne se décide pas à l’enlever tellement elle fait part du décor. Excellente qualité et très pratique pour les largeurs non standard. On l’a fait monter par un ami professionnel et on l’utilise sur un palier pour l’escalier ou pour l’entrée d’une pièce attenante.

Me llegó rápido y bien, la compré para un pasillo para que mi perra no pase y queda estupenda ya que cuando la tengo abierta no hay obstáculos en el suelo. El montaje es un poco difícil pero terminas por aclararte, la única queja que pongo es que los tornillos de anclaje a la pared son pequeños y que también podrían poner los tacos, yo puse otros más largos que tenía por casa.

super Gitter mit der beiligenden Schablone leicht an der Wand zu befestigen. Aber ACHTUNG! Ungedingt auf die länge des unteren Plastik Teils achten. Das untere ist minimal länger als das obere. Montiert man dieses falsch, fällt das Gitter sonst beim öffnen immer raus. Dies steht leider nicht in der Beschreiben, beide Teile sind dort als Identisch abgebildet. Sollte vom Hersteller vermerkt werden.

Il prodotto è arrivato un giorno prima del previsto. Acquistato per impedire l'accesso al bagno, in cui ho le lettiere dei gatti, alla mia cagnolona che ha imparato a fare il "passo del ghepardo" attraverso il buco che avevo fatto sulla porta pur di entrare in bagno per "giocare" con le lettiere in questione. Il montaggio non ha presentato molte difficoltà se non il posizionamento dei blocchi e quella di dover tenere una vite ed avvitare l'altra in posizione scomode per bloccare "l'allungamento" del cancelletto. Avendolo montato all'accesso di una porta non ho dovuto effettuare alcun foro (altrimenti bisognerebbe farne 8) in quanto ho avvitato le viti direttamente nel legno. L'apertura è totale, come in tutti i cancelletti a fissaggio (mentre per quelli a pressione rimane una parte sul pavimento) ed è quello che mi serviva in quanto l'ho dovuto montare a circa 15 cm dal pavimento per far si che i gatti potessero passare anche a cancelletto chiuso. Non penso che l'apertura sia così comoda avendo una mano occupata ma, visto che a me è servito per un altro motivo, non posso che dare 5 stelle. P.S. Quando aprite il pacco nella parte che contiene i pezzi più piccoli fate enorme attenzione al pezzo "q". Questo pezzo è minuscolo e sembra un pezzo di plastica in più, non è così è un pezzo fondamentale. Mettetelo da parte lontano da gatti e bimbi o potreste perderlo.

Un cancelletto molto bello da vedere ma piu’ importante anche robusto e sicuro di struttura. Non mi fido dei cancelletti a pressione in cima a una scala percio’ ho voluto questo che si fissa con viti sia all interno che all’esterno dell’apertura a secondo delle proprie esigenze. Non ha nemmeno il fastidioso gradino che hanno i cancelli a pressione. Consiglio di disporre i vari pezzi come dalla illustrazione del contenuto e poi seguire le istruzioni. Cosi’ e’ piu’ facile comprendere come montare il cancelletto. Sono contenta del risultato. Mi sento di aver protetto il nostro nipotino da pericolose cadute quando viene a trovare noi nonni… purtroppo non sovente perche’ vivono in Inghilterra. E’ in procinto di gattonare percio’ devo mettere la casa in sicurezza. Se tutti i prodotti BabyDan sono fatti con cura come questo cancelletto, mi sa che divento un loro cliente fedele dato che devo attrezzare la casa per quando vengono a soggionare da noi.
