Good price, great first smoker, very practical long term after getting used to it, useless gauge.
Solid for the price. The temperature gauge is useless, you can find a good probe for 10 quid. Others have said you should drill holes on the coal tray, but you don't really need to. I've tried both ways and I've gotten more stable temperatures for 6 hours without topping it up by doing the minion method - full the tray with coals + some wood chunks to the brim leaving a ditch in the middle of the pile, then light up 8 coals and pour them in the ditch. Remember to keep the water basin topped up with water. I bought two, I have been somewhat negligent keeping them out in the elements (obviously don't do that as you have to clean them up), still going strong after 1.5 years.

Phantom Smoker Appears Passes Boerewors Test
Well I ordered this in June. Had a back and forth with the seller insisting the smoker was delivered. Soon after football decided to eff off to Italy my neighbour who had been on holiday then Quarantine due to COVID19, popped over to say that they'd taken in my smoker when it was delivered the month before. I was so relieved that I hadn't called the seller ungodly names. Can you imagine the embarrassment? Put the smoker together myself. 😁 I had a screw missing during the set up but I just replaced it with one I had in the drawer of mystery. It is quite solid and we'll made. I didn't have to make any alterations like other people have advised. Then again I'm not an expert bbq person. As is the smoker is fine to use but if you want to adjust it you can go right ahead and do so. Gave it a test run this afternoon. Am pretty happy with the results. The meat is tender and juicy. The Sausages are heavenly! Of course they are I made them. It passed the Boerewors test so fantastic in my books.

A great smoker for its price! but needs tuning))
Everything works well, but a few minor improvements are needed: • Fire zone: It’s necessary to add a metal cone-shaped ring to contain the coals or wood, as after an hour, everything that burned started falling through the grate and spreading across the entire bowl, causing the fire to suffocate. An alternative is to drill holes, but this would make air supply control and, consequently, temperature control more difficult. • Temperature control: The thermometer that comes with the smoker went straight to the trash. I ordered another one with a 7 cm long heat probe, which reacts even if you warm it with your hand. Installing it took some effort, but the result was excellent. The temperature stayed between 110 and 130 degrees Celsius for about 3 hours, and with the new thermometer, everything was well-regulated by adjusting the air intake vents. This is great for pork. I’ll also add from my own experience: if you’re thinking about smoking meat, don’t hesitate to buy an additional thermometer that will show the internal temperature of the meat in real-time. Today, I smoked pork belly—3 hours at a stable 120 degrees Celsius in the smoker, and during that time, the pork reached 75 degrees internally. The result was a juicy smoked pork belly. Best value for money on the market.
I bought this model 2 years ago, it's been used every day at my allotment but I needed another one for home, so now I own 2. Brilliant for steaming, smoking and grilling.

It’s not fit for purpose!
First time using, followed the instructions all the way. Lit it, I’m smoking a joint of brisket and the temperature is sitting at around 200f consistently and after around 1 hour (when the meat was in it) the external paint has started to peel off. Not much I can do about it now other than to see it through until the meat cooks and it cools down to see what the real damage is. Absolutely no way this could be used as a fire pit, it wouldn’t cope with the heat. I’ve emailed the seller and I’m asking for a complete refund. Waiting to hear back but didn’t want anyone else buying this until the seller has addressed the problem with their stock.

Good smoker.
Bought this for my nephew who wanted to do some smoking as a starter kit cos of the value. He will probably go on to an expensive smoker if it’s as he hopes.

Poor paint and door handles
Was pleased when the Bbq arrived. Easy to assemble. Unfortunately on the first use, the paint blistered, the thermostat was very inaccurate. Would like to have handles on all layers, also heat resistant handles on the doors. Why did you use heatproof paint?

Ich war anfangs überrascht, wie klein die Verpackung des Smokers war. Aber irgendwie ist alles drinnen gewesen und hat zusammen gepasst. Mein Mann hat ihn nun auch schon zweimal verwendet und er funktioniert gut. Allerdings braucht man unbedingt einen Kohlesnzünder. Direkt im Smoker wird das nichts und die Kohlen gehen immer aus. Von dr Größe her gibt es nicht viel zu sagen, er ist natürlich eher klein, dafür aber auch billig. Kaufempfehlung für alle, die das Smoken mal ausprobieren wollen. Für Ambitionierte vielleicht etwas zu einfach

Comprato per entrare nel mondo delle lunghe cotture, e devo dire che questo prodotto è ottimo per iniziare.. certo le lamiere sono fine ma con questi soldi non si compra niente e con un pó di attenzione si riesce anche a stabilizzare la temperatura.. Do 4 stelle solo per il termometro che non funziona ma per il resto sono sodisfatto dell’acquisto, e mi sento di consigliarlo a tutti quelli che vogliono iniziare..

Lamiere fini ma che fanno il loro lavoro, un po' marchingegnoso da montare, rimane comunque un ottimo strumento per iniziare a sperimentare il bbq senza spendere un eccesso.
