I bought this little headphone amp so that I didn't have to go through the hassle of setting up my Peavey Rage 158, which does have a headphone output. Using it on a Yamaha Pacifica 112J.First impressions: Very compact unit, is rechargeable and you use a mini USB able to charge from a laptop or phone charger. Extra input so you can play along from a music source, such as mp3 or phone with 3.5mm stereo output. Extremely convenient.Three main controls, one for volume, one for treble and one for gain, the latter giving you a dirtier, grungier sound. The clean channel is achieved by turning the gain right down to minimum.In use: Sounds OK when using a touch of gain to give a bit of grunge, but I am not so impressed by the clean channel, it is quite muddy sounding compared to the headphone output of my Rage (A very minor gripe) - but hey, a fully portable practice headphone amp for less than 20 quid? It's fun. And like I mentioned in the title, it saves waking my missus!

Great value for money, has incredible gain potential, however the more you add the more hum their will be. This thing obviously does't have a noise gate. Take your time and have patience. Sometimes a low tone level (like a contour) is more appropriate sounding. Remember, this thing is putting sound directly into your ears. I have found it works best with my EMG active pickup guitars, probably as they are "noiseless" and have the higher output. Its does alright as well on my probably,poorly wired, single coil guitars. Excellent for private practice. I managed to get an hour in the other night without disrupting my toddlers routine. I completely recommend this product. I have no knowledge of more expensive brands leading models, however I would guess that this product will either, give you a taste for this type or product or lead you onto investing more than twice the price in a more recognised brand.The part of the product that holds the jack. Well, I forgot I had the thing on the guitar and put my guitar down incorrectly damaging the housing for the jack. As the jack was in the guitar, it was not going to move, so its housing did. The housing came apart. I managed to fix this with electric tap, there is still a slight cap and the jack is slightly askew however, this was my error. Nothing to do with build quality. I once lay back on a clip on tuner and it snapped. That's my fault. Not that tuners fault...

Really nice sound, the battery lasts for aaaaaages (a solid week of playing a couple hours a day minimum) its very light which made me wonder how it would last but it actually seems surprisingly rugged.No nonsense just plug it in and play away

i have seen this item advertised before and decided to give it a try, read all the reviews and went for it the price is very cheap, others have said about poor sound quality, simple answer is get some quality head phones it sound really good on mine,plugged my ipod into the aux socket and i was away you can balance volume of guitar to your music and it sounds really good..plenty of range of sound i think this is really good, worked straight out of the box without charging for 2 hours solid.....i'mreally pleased i decided to buy one...

My daughter is really impressed with this, she’s learning to play the electric guitar. She can have it as loud as she likes without disturbing anyone else.

I bought this product so that I could easily plug it into my guitar and plug my earphones into that and has done brilliant. The sound quality is great, there is no delay and it tells you how much battery is left instead of just dying like some other products. Overall a very good product and I would recommend
