I’ve always been put off by the cost of these type system hoses and have managed with an inexpensive bog standard hose which I manually wrapped round a bracket. After many years use that hose has got shorter and shorter due to it cracking at stressed points where it’s kinked. Having a 17metre long garden I didn’t need a 25 metre so this was ideal. Fixing the hanging bracket was simple and easy with good quality fixing and wall plugs that come with the hose kit . Plumb in the piping was also easy ( ignore the water drip at the point of the tap in my video that’s my tap not the fixings ). All taking less then 30 minutes to do . Oh my what a difference this type of hose system makes !!! Watering my garden and things like jet washing is now going to be an absolute breeze . The ratchet recoil works perfectly moving back and forth at the same time so no more tangles . Neat and tidy stored away in the sleek looking holder too so sheltered from elements that may effect the longevity of the hose too. I choose this one above other due to the metal pin that sits in the wall bracket giving it strength in my opinion. Love the functionality of the way it also swivels 360 degrees to so I can easily take the hose to the front garden to water the plants etc too without any adjustments. Absolutely worth its weight in gold in my opinion

This hose reel has been a fantastic upgrade for my garden setup. It was easy to fit to the wall and looks really smart—much neater than having a loose hose lying around. It’s on the heavier side, but that’s actually reassuring—it feels solid and high quality, built to last. The automatic rewind is a big plus; it keeps the hose neatly tucked away, which not only looks tidy but also eliminates any trip hazards. The spray gun has loads of functions, all working perfectly with no leaks or pressure issues. The only minor gripe is that the hose occasionally doesn’t retract fully on its own, but a gentle pull gets it moving again easily. All in all, a well-made, good-looking bit of kit that keeps the garden neat and makes watering much easier. Highly recommended!

Price was considerably cheaper than the Hozelock equivalent and customer reviews seemed more positive. VonHaus seems to have a good reputation so I bought this on Amazon. The whole thing seems very robust, the connections don’t leak, the hose itself is reinforced and should last well ( hope). Simple wall mounting with four hex-head screws and all the fixings supplied were good quality. I didn’t need the supplied 12mm wall plugs, I used some 8mm plugs for fixing to a brick garage wall. I looked at many hose reels before choosing the Vonhaus hose reel with 30m of hose. It's hose retractability is great and very well made. The only slight downside is the fact the hose itself seems to get a few kinks each time I use it which is a little disappointing although it's very good for the price.

Just the job - feels solidly made, with good quality hose and fittings. Retraction spring is really strong - be interesting to see how long it stays strong, but currently a vast improvement compared to struggling to wind up the old manual reel. Wall bracket is nice and solid with a sturdy metal pivot - I like the idea of just lifting the whole thing off and stowing in the garage in the winter. Supplied wall fixings are perfectly adequate, but note you’ll need a 12mm masonry bit, also I found it difficult to fully tighten two of the four ( hex head) bolts ( the bracket is not symmetrical) due to the shape of the plastic moulding obstructing the wrench - really needs a socket wrench - 10mm I think - or use different fixings. Obviously needs to be fixed very securely as there’s a fair bit of weight and a lot of yanking the whole thing about when in use. Seems a reasonable price for the quality and functionality

Everything you expect from a hose pipe ++++++ it retracts magically . It's a bit of a pain attaching to the wall, but it's not a problem for a DIY person. It is quite sturdy and resistant to tangling. All in all, a good bit of kit

I did a bit of research for one of these hose reels and settled for this. The competition reel, from a company starting with the letter 'K' was just a bit too wide in dimension to fit at the side of my yard in the location I wanted it. It was also a lot more expensive. This is quite a bit less obtrusive. Installation is simple and it has a nice feature that it can be easily locked to the wall bracket using a small padlock. The hose is of adequate quality, OK, its not ani-kink but I have had no trouble with it. The spray attachment (nozzle) is unfortunately a throw away item. I purchased another from that 'K' company which works as the connectors are universal. It is almost a year old now and I have had no issues with its quality. It takes a good strong pull to deploy the hose! My wife is a small person and she manages but has to put her weight into it to get the hose out. The retraction function is excellent. I always release the water pressure before retracting the hose, but the function is strong and works perfectly. I am happy with this product and would buy it again without hesitation.
