Awesome
This is awesome. I use it mainly when hiking with a GoPro Hero 4, screwed to a simple hand grip and the results are stunning. I've had it for a year now and can confirm the battery life (as I use it) is very good, although you get two sets anyway. One example of just how cool this is was demonstrated travelling up a volcano in the back of a jeep. Bouncing around everywhere, my footage shows the seats and windows moving all over but the point of reference - the scenery outside that I was filming was almost completely still and smooth. I simply can't believe how it can work so well.A downside if there is one, is the packing of it into a pocket or rucksack. I try to keep it from getting squashed as I'll keep the GoPro installed and the grip screwed onto it, but it's not the easiest shape to keep tucked away safe but still within easy reach. I hope that makes sense, I know what I mean!

Wish I had this sooner...
Firstly, a quick disclaimer – I share free stock footage and review items I use to create my free content. I bought this with my own money (not through donations) and received a small discount from EACHSHOT for writing an impartial review. I’ve owned the product for 14 days at the time of writing. So my review is subject to change but if it hasn’t been updated, it means the below still feedback applies. Now onto the good stuff…Summary:Easy 5* - If you are looking for a wearable gimbal for action shots (hence the need for 3-axis), you will very happy with this product. I would certainly recommend it. Your videos will be much smoother without any hassle or time spent balancing it before each shot or messing around with stabilisation software afterwards. Why I chose to buy the Rider-M over other gimbals:I was very tempted with the Feiyu FY G4S (not wearable) and the Feiyu FY WG (still tempted if I could afford it) but the Rider M clinched it because I can wear it and it’s versatile - it can be used with similar shaped cameras as the GoPro 3+/4 AND it can be adapted to the GoPro 4 Session (I haven’t tested this out as of yet but plan to get the adapter and will update this review if I do). This bodes well should GoPro choose to use this sort of shape with newer models. I don’t think the FY WG can be adapted to the GoPro Session 4 but happy to be corrected if I’m wrong.First impressions:Solid build, even the buttons are metal. It feels like a quality product. It was really easy to use from out the box, switch it on and click the mode button to get the stabilisation option you need for your shoot.Negatives (after a week):To be honest, I’m being a bit picky with these comments but I want you to be fully informed before you buy: - The app could be better. It may have just been bad luck, but it crashed during the firmware update and so I had to manually update the gimbal. So to save you time, I would advise you update through your computer. Download the software from Zhiyun, the latest firmware and it does it all for you in seconds (I’ll add a tutorial on my channel should you need it - just search NatureClip and Rider-M). The app controls the gimbal fine, but as I would like to see the footage, I’ll be buying the remote.- It is pricey, so if you are thinking of casual handheld footage, there are 2-axis gimbals available which are much cheaper- No low battery indicator-The adapter for the GoPro Session 4 can’t be bought direct from Zhiyun, Amazon and I’m still looking for someone who sells this separately. This is a shame as it’s a key reason for buying.(-) I’ve seen slightly smoother footage with handheld gimbals BUT I think this either had additional stabilisation in editing or just comes with practice. Either way, until I compare the items myself I’m adding this as a potential negative.Positives:+ The stability is incredible. You do get a bit of motion from body mechanics but it is greatly reduced (You have to see it to believe it - I’m pulling together footage and will add the link here if I can, if not, search my channel/website).+ Absolutely silent, not a sound from the mechanism (will keep audio in my test footage).+ Can be used upside down (easy to do so too)+ Battery life is very good (will update when I’ve pushed it to its limits).+ Solid build (all metal casing)+ Easy to use – Just switch it on, no need to balance it. I calibrated it for the review but I don’t think I needed to.+ Small and very light (you don’t notice you’re wearing it)+ You can easily adjust the angle with your hands (don’t need the app or remote)+ It comes with a GoPro attachment adapter+ Good value for money – it isn’t cheap, but the impact on footage sure is worth it!+ Versatile – the threads are easy to adjust and allows for the LCD screen to be added. Can also be used with other action cameras.+ Easy to change the batteries+ Once you set the angle, you can forget about it. I came across a car fire when out cycling (check out the video review!) and forgot it was recording. I was turning my head to talk to the car owner, looking around, checking my phone but the camera kept steady and on shot the whole time.Trying the Rider-M out with different attachments (see for yourself in my video review):Chesty – probably the best attachment. I forgot I was wearing it when riding my bike. The footage was smoother than the handlebar attachment and got a similar shot.Helmet – I can’t wear my camera on top as I cycle under low bridges on the canal. Wearing on the side is fine for me but my helmet tightens up pretty well (has a twisty thing at the back). I imagine it would pull down on a loose helmet which just uses straps.Handlebar – Taking this off road, the vibration was a bit too much for it. I got the same shot I was looking for (no arms or handlebars) by using my chesty and selecting the narrow angle on my GoPro. I don’t have a motorbike but imagine this wouldn’t be an issue (other footage I’ve seen was great).Shoulder mount – most shoulder mounts have a slant in the footage, this gimbal correct it.Suction cup in the car windscreen – amazing, you see the dashboard move about and the horizon is steady.Fetch (dog mount) – Was so impressed with this gimbal at this point. Even on the back of a very bouncy dog jogging alongside me, the footage was great.I hope you found this review useful. If you did, please click yes. If not, please add a comment. Questions and queries are welcome, I’ll usually respond over the weekend. All the bestDanItem reviewed: EACHSHOT Z1-Rider M WG Wearable 3 Axis Brussless Gopro Camera Gimbal Stabilizer for Gopro Hero 3, Hero 3+,Hero 4 Support APP Remote Control Upgraded Version of Z1-Rider 2+EACHSHOT® Cleaning Cloth

Does a great job stabilizing my GoPro Hero 5 but forget using ...
Does a great job stabilizing my GoPro Hero 5 but forget using the internal Mic. The gimbal is placed next to the GoPro 5 mic and so no matter what you do, there will always be a strong buzzing noise. It renders any audio from my Hero 5 footage useless. I would have returned it but i rarely if ever use any audio on my GoPro.

Quite a decent gimbal after a small hickup at the start
Upgrading my previous review, because I received good instructions from the manufacturer (Zhiyuntech) how to make the gimbal work again. When I first used the gimbal, it powered down and refused to get up and running again. I got instructions (quite rapidly) to 1) download the USB driver from the manufacturer's website, 2) connect the gimbal to my computer and 3) download and install the latest firmware. After that, things have been going smoothly - literally. The footage is as impressive as could be expected when the camera doesn't shake at all. However, I would have expected this to work straight out of the box, but if the original firmware was to blame, maybe it should be sold only with the latest firmware installed (if possible).

does not fit Hero 5
EACHSHOT Z1-Rider M WG Wearable 3 Axis Brussless Gopro Camera Gimbal Stabilizer for Gopro Hero 5/4/3/3+ Support APP Remote Control Upgraded Version of Zhiyun Z1-Rider2 I'm going to be requesting a return as this does not fit - and will damage - your Hero 5. The product not only advertises support for the Hero 5 but features images with the Hero 5 mounted on the product. The rubber body is too thick for the mounting bracket/frame. I'm disappointed because I wanted to get a Karma Grip but all the horrible reviews led me to this product instead. I'm sure if it had the proper attachment this could have been a great product that's not the case.Update - I ended up keeping the product and ordering the bracket adapter iFlight Adapter Mount Bracket Plate Clip Holder for Gopro Hero 5 for Zhiyun Evolution Rider M Gimbal Sports Action Camera I found looking through the Q&A section. The product itself is still falsely advertising that it's compatible with the Hero 5 out of the box.Update - I received the adapter and it worked out. The Hero 5 is now mounted appropriately. Here are a few things to note now that I got going with this thing:Pros1. Great packaging and comes with most of what you need2. The 3 (actually 4 but read on!) modes available via the 1 mode button are easy to cycle through3. Appears to be well built but only time will tell4. iOS "ZhiYun Assistant" app works well enough (note this specific name because if you were to search for "Rider-M" app or something, you will not find it in the App store.5. The App finds the unit and allows you to connect quickly with no handshake/auth of any kind (not sure if that's good or bad), and the unit responds to the controls in the App really well.Cons1. There is no remote out of the box even though the manual devotes a couple of pages to it2. Some reviews (on YouTube and elsewhere) mentioned a "selfie" mode where by triggering this mode the camera rotates 180 degrees from its position to face you. This mode is not explained or listed in the manual and there are only 3 actual modes (Pan, Lock, Follow) that you can toggle depending on how you press the 1 available button (there are 2 buttons but the other is just the Power button). However, this mode *is available via the app (and probably the remote but I don't have the remote to confirm).3. When you first find the app in the App store the screenshot advertising the app is not in English. However after you download it everything appears to be translated appropriately.4. There is no power adapter that connects the Hero 5 camera to the unit. There are 2 in the box for other models but the Hero 5 takes a USB-C and that type is not provided. It's not a huge issue but it does - as I understand it - allow you to charge both the camera and the unit by just plugging power in to the unit. Otherwise you have to charge them separate which is not that big of a problem since the Hero 5 ports are located on the side that's accessible without having to remove the camera. My next disappointment (after I overcame the false advertising of the Hero 5) was that I wished for that selfie 180 rotation mode on the unit itself. Numerous times I would rotate the camera to briefly face myself and my kids next to me on some activity like a roller coaster and I can't be fumbling with a phone or a remote. So are you ready for the good news? Here is some information that you won't find anywhere in the manual: clicking the mode button on the unit 3 times will toggle the 180 selfie rotation/mode! Clicking it again 3 times will rotate the camera back/facing forward. I included a photo of the page out of the manual that mentions nothing about accessing this 3rd mode. I took a wild guess that perhaps pressing 3 times might trigger something, and indeed it did. Mind.... Blown...Final/Latest Update - Yeah I'm returning this and do not buy this if you own a Hero 5. There are a few major issues. The first is that it turns out that the top of the support bracket that holds the camera in place literally covers up the top microphone on the Hero 5. The second is that the side microphone is right up against one of the motors, and so when you take a video, there is this really loud grinding sound that overtakes the video audio which is coming from the gimbal motor(s). After looking in to this issue apparently this is a common and significant problem where the blame falls on both the gimbal (not just this one) and the Hero 5 due to how the GoPro designed the microphones and their placement. Lastly, you can't operate the side button on the Hero 5 as it is completely blocked on the side by one of the motors. I don't even understand why someone took the time to make a Hero 5 compatible bracket for this thing when there is such an obvious flaw in the design. Even if a better bracket was designed to go around the top mic, you can't do anything about the side mic unless GoPro redesigned the camera and moved that other mic to the opposite side.None of the 5 star reviews here must be using a Hero 5, and the unfortunate thing here is that the actual video itself (not the sound), along with the few basic functions, work really well. The video is really smooth and this product would otherwise probably work really great with some other camera where there is no conflict with the microphone placement. I really wanted to get this thing to work so I tried moving it around and displacing the camera via some spacers so that there is a gap between both mics but it throws the thing off-balance, and the motors begin to struggle/fail keeping the camera up. Great gimbal but beware if you want to use a Hero 5 and chest mount
Great gimbal but I have two concerns. First issue is that although a GoPro Hero 5 now fits in it, if you're holding the gimbal on a chest mount (or to where the base is behind it not directly under it) it has a LOT of motor noise. This is not an issue with the GoPro Hero 3 or 4 because they are significantly lighter, but I can't really use the hero 5 in it unless I have the mount directly below it. It's FLAWLESS with my Hero 3 and 4 and only picks up motor noise on occasion and even then it's hardly noticeable. The second issue I have with it is that it can only do smooth vertical pans (pitches) in a mode when the mount is directly below it again. So if you're riding mountain bikes with this on a chest mount, it's going to keep the horizon level at all times (unless you manually adjust it to point up or down), so if you're going down a steep decline, the camera will still be level instead of pointing down. IF you can mount it to your chest so the base was still under it, it would work.Overall, I do enjoy this gimbal, it's great, but if you plan on recording mountain biking with a GoPro Hero 5, pass on it, the audio the GoPro will pick up will be terrible (because of the GoPro's weight) and it won't do vertical pans in that position. If you have another camera or plan on using it on the selfie stick, it is a phenomenal, small and light weight gimbal.Update: I mounted it vertical with my hero 5 and it STILL has too much noise. I moved the review down to 3 stars because it IS a good gimbal for Hero 3's and 4's, BUT it shows a Hero 5 in the picture and says it works with it, which it doesn't really. I mean it does, but you won't have audio.

Great but not perfect
This is a very cool stabilizer. It does work like magic, But it is not perfect. The main reason it is not perfect is that the GoPro Hero5 picks up the motor noise of the Rider-M. So audio from the GoPro is unusable. So I came up with another system. I attached the Rider-M to my Tascam DR100 MKII. Then I follow these steps:1. I turn on the GoPro, the Rider M, and the Tascam.2. I start recording on the GoPro and the Tascam.3. I put my finger in my mouth and pull it out quickly to make a popping sound--which is needed later to sync the video and audio.4. Then I go into Adobe Premiere Pro and sync the video with the audio. It works fine that way. I DO NOT use the audio from GoPro. I only use the audio from the Tascam. The Rider M is clever enough to be used on top OR on bottom of the Tascam.Check out the photos.

Smooth action, acceptable build quality
Build feels sturdy. The function buttons are small but ok. The gimbal action which is the most important thing of course is on the money- smooth and pretty reliable however one holds the stick. The manual is not very useful though and some instructions are cryptic or presumptuous, like it doesn't say if some items are included or available separately. I face-palmed on the attached photo of one of the page regarding battery life. Overall not a bad buy so far and I hope it lasts and durable enough for my travels.

Small, light and it Works!
Received this yesterday (9/12/16), charged the battery and turned it on Out of the box, the unit was balanced and ready to be used. I didn't have to do much beside start filming with my go-pro hero 4 silver. I am amazed how nice this works. I had order a Feiyu Tech FY-G4S 3 and the advantage of that is that it can rotated 360 degrees. This one you cant, but it doesn't bother me. I'm willing to give that up by being able to mount this on my chest, helmet, car, bike and kids and all the videos are stable. I've returned the Feiyu Tech due to the usb firmware upgrading port not working. With this one, firmware is done via the App versus a computer. It was a pain trying to download firmware for the Feiyu tech through a Chinese website. Even though this is a Chinese manufacturer as well, I wouldn't have to worry about that any more. Some reviews states that the App has to be download via the web. I was able to fine the Zhiyun App in the google play store and connected to the Gimbal with no issues. Overall this is my second Gimbal and so far it works and exceeded my expectation. Over time, I'll update this review on it's reliability, but so far, it works!

Professional quality video!
One word, AMAZING! First off, I am a novice with video filming but seeing how different video is with and without a gimbal, it is eye popping. My videos look professionally done using this. In regards to the Z1-Rider M, it is extremely easy to use. It is quiet, battery last a long time (even comes with extra batteries), and it is easy to manipulate different angles. Comes with directions but I didn't even use them. IOS has an app which is easy to use, I recommend using that when filming. Great product and one of the best things I spent money on.

I came to the conclusion that this is the best option. Lightweight
Fast delivery, arrived earlier than expected! I researched other gimbals, I came to the conclusion that this is the best option. Lightweight, long battery life, smoother results, and durable brushless motors are all great selling points. The wearable mount allows mounting on selfie sticks and most harnesses.I'm confident I made the right purchase.

Straordinario
Vale i soldi spesi.
