Prowell Vipor F59R Bicycle Helmet, Edge Blau / Schwarz

Friends at work and my girlfriend have been giving me stress for not wearing a cycle helmet on my occasional 6 mile commute to work. I’m a biker and like the uncomplicated pleasures of cycling if the weather is nice and after tearing around on my motorcycles I didn’t want to be bothering with excess gear but they beat me down, I gave in and after a lot of searching online I settled with this helmet...and it’s brilliant.Well made, very smart, very precise fitting with a lot of adjustments so it really does fit perfectly. It has an effective peak, a comfy strap and a clever top fitting light for extra safety that is included. Oh and it’s so lightweight you forget your wearing it. Bargain price also.After being used to spending three to five hundred pounds a go on motorcycle helmets this is a true bargain. I have had it close to a month now and wouldn’t cycle without it.I also have to say that customer service is superb.Please consider this brand when looking at big named items as I did, you get a lot of quality for your money.Very happy with my purchase.

This product looks and feels about as good as can be expected of cycle helmets, and once you figure out the fitting process, it feels very secure. The strap under the chin is comfortable even without the optional padding (which I found made my chin sweat and itch too much to be worth using).The only negative so far has been one of the strips of padding inside the helmet coming loose after only about a month of being used 2-3 times per week. The padding is attached by a sticky surface which isn't very strong. I was able to reattach straight away it this time, but may have to add glue in future. Being repairable it's not a big deal, but the padding on my previous cycle helmet lasted almost 10 years so I know they can be better secured, though perhaps my standards have been set unreasonably high!Regardless, as a regular long-distance cyclist, I highly recommend this product.

Had the helmet for around 11 weeks now and I use it for my daily commute.Unusually compared to my previous helmets, there is more plastic 'wiring' used to secure the helmet. Turning a wheel at the back tightens this up and properly holds it in place.An issue that has developed for me is one of these wires hanging free from the helmet, only loosely holding in place when re-inserted. This has led to it breaking free during commutes, leaving a distracting wire dangling around my face and making the helmet less secure.Comfort is generally okay, though the nylon can sometimes twist at the cheek. I've not noticed this to be obvious during my commute, though.Generally, it's an okay helmet, but I think it might be let down by a slightly vulnerable design.

I am writing this as I have just returned it. The helmet looks good and the adjustment on the rear for circumference works well.However, try as I may, I could not get the straps under the ears to lay flat. I tried every way possible to adjust these but because they wouldn't lay flat they dug into my jaw making the helmet very uncomfortable. Perhaps mine was faulty.

I hope I never have to find out how well it protects my head in a crash, but it seems like it would do a good job to me! Nice and comfortable, can be a little scratchy, but that's rare.
