Only Lasts One Year in the can... Or does it... Great Product!
I bought this 2 years ago to fix large holes in my Travertine floor on my patio (in Arizona). I was able to procrastinate for 2 years and finally I had to take some action. I looked at howm to videos on youtube and visited the manufacturers site where I learned this stuff is only good for a year in the can! When I opened it I could see why they say one year, the product separated just like a good oil based paint will. Wondering if I could bring it back to life I bent up a heavy metal coat-hanger into a stir stick and put into my drill and went to work. I also put on my 3M painting mask to keep the fumes from killing me and went to work outside. It took a bit to bring it back to life but this worked and the product worked great! You don't need much hardener and it sets pretty quick but fixed all big holes like a charm and it looks fantastic! I would highly recommend this product and also recommend to use it when you buy it...

Works perfectly; just follow the directions
Tenax Travertine filler works exactly as advertised. I used it to fill cracks in about ten 12" x 12" marble floor tiles and in two ceramic tiles with a similar color. The cracks in the marble now look like natural veins in the stone. The cracks in the ceramic tiles are invisble. I also use it to fill a hole in one marble tile that was about 1" x ½ " across and about ½" deep, and it looks very good.Based on the aroma, it's a styrene-polyester resin similar to the material used to make fiberglass boats. It has a strong styrene and solvent odor and you should only use it in a ventilated area. You mix a small amount of peroxide into the resin to cause a chemical reaction that gives off heat and cures the resin, although the heat is imperceptible when you mix the small quantities needed for repairing cracks. You have to make very small batches because the mixed resin & catalyst start to gel in less than 5 minutes.Take a thumb-sized amount of the resin from the can and squeeze an amount of catalyst equal to the size of a chocolate bit out of the plastic tube and onto the blob of resin. Mix the two immediately a with a flat bladed spatula or a wood shim split lengthwise -- something stiff and flat. Mix it quickly and thoroughly, put some of the mixture on a spackling knife and use the knife blade to wipe the filler into the crack as fast as you can. You can clean up with glass scraper by waiting until the filler cures hard (about 30 minutes) or you can wipe the excess off with a paper towel dampened with a solvent like Goof Off or acetone. It's best to use vinyl gloves rather than work with you bare hands, but you can clean your hands with the same solvents. The 12 lineal feet or so of thin cracks that I filled plus the small hole used about 1/20th of what's in a one liter can (almost a quart). It's buff colored as it comes out of the can but Tenax makes pigments to make it darker, so you could adjust it to a darker marble. Just be sure to mix very small quantities and you'll be OK.

Good product. It works well. No more holes in my travertine floor and plenty of product left.
This product works well, but in my case, 1 litter was way too much to fix all the holes in my travertine floors (about 1500 sq ft) in my condo. It's always good to finish the repair job with extra product in the can, in case you find another hole later, or another one opens up, but I was able to fix all the holes that developed during 5 years with perhaps 5% or less of the contents of that 1 litter can. So, I have 95% left. I don't know what's the shelf life of that can, but it seems to me that this product in this size is better for contractors who will use it in several jobs relatively fast, that for a home user. So, I'd recommend the seller to offer it in smaller sizes as well. So, even when the performance of the product is excellent, I rated it 4 stars for that reason.

the product works great and blends in very well
We have what I believe is the most common type of travertine flooring. The color is light tan or buff. Our floor was sealed when it was originally laid, but that was 17 years ago. Over the years, the floor has developed various small holes or pits from foot traffic and wet mopping every few weeks. We also have a few cracks that run across a few tiles due to concrete slab movement underneath. We decided to try this product to fill the holes and cracks. For our color of travertine, the product works great and blends in very well. I filled quite a few holes a few weeks ago and I really have to study the floor very carefully to relocate the holes that were filled. The product has a bit of a learning curve in order to get the very best results. Filling small holes with the product is very simple with a putty knife. The larger the hole, the greater the likelihood that you will need to do a two step process involving an initial fill of the hole and a subsequent revisit to the hole to do a final fill that gives a flush finish to stone surface. I found that the product would shrink a bit when used to fill a larger hole. The key to getting clean fill is properly timing the scraping away of the residue after applying the product with the putty knife. Since we are all operating in different climates with different drying rates, I can't really state that you should wait "x" number of minutes. In my climate, letting the product dry 4 or 5 minutes seemed to work the best and allowed the razor blade to most cleanly scrape residue from the stone surface while leaving a smooth fill over the hole.Be sure to watch one or two of the youtube videos on how to use the product as they will give you a good starting knowledge for getting good results.

This stuff is great!
After researching the best way to fill small holes in my travertine floor, I decided to try this based on all the great reviews. I only had 2 small holes to fill, so I didn't want a huge bucket of filler. Was a little disappointed when the package arrived because the directions were inadequate. Plus, there was heavy duty tape sealing the lid to the can, and when you carefully pulled it off, it tore off some of the brief English instructions. No matter - I just started reading every single Amazon review to get some tips on how much filler to use vs. hardener and the best way to mix it up. I found 2 great tips -- mix up about a teaspoon of filler to a couple of drops of hardener. Another great tip -- use 3x5 cards to mix the batches. We used popsicle sticks as the stirrers and applicators. We actually used more like half a teaspoon of filler to 2 small dabs of hardener. We filled the holes and after drying, scraped off the excess. We literally cannot see where the holes were anymore -- so pleased!! The exposed part of our kitchen floor is only about 11x7', so granted, we have enough product for about 100 years. But for $18 plus shipping, it was well worth the price!!Update: 9/14/18 — we had a small area of our travertine that cracked for some odd reason and a big chunk of tile crumbled and came out. We thought we would try using this again (since we still had a big can of it left over). The area was underneath where the tile meets the cabinet/drawer (up against the baseboard) so not in a highly visible place. I attached a pic - it’s not perfect by any means, but the hole was very deep and irregular so it was hard to smooth it out quickly before it hardened. I’m happy!
