Reliable cosmetic emulsifier and thickener for creams and lotions
MYOC Glycerol Monostearate‑SE is a pure cosmetic‑grade emulsifier and thickener designed to improve the texture, stability, and shelf life of skincare formulations. Supplied as a white flaky powder, it blends oil and water phases smoothly, helping creams and lotions achieve a uniform consistency. It also acts as a thickener, giving products a richer texture while forming a protective layer that slows moisture loss, supporting hydration for dry skin. Additionally, it functions as an anti‑caking agent, helping extend product shelf life. While highly effective in cosmetic applications, it is not food‑grade and requires careful measuring during formulation. Pros: * Pure cosmetic‑grade emulsifier and thickener * Improves stability and texture in creams and lotions * Helps moisturize by reducing moisture loss * Extends shelf life as an anti‑caking agent * Affordable and non‑GMO, paraffin-free and sulfate‑free Cons: * Cosmetic grade only — not suitable for ingestion * Requires accurate measuring for consistent results * Niche use, mainly for DIY or professional formulators Final Thoughts: A versatile cosmetic ingredient that enhances emulsification, texture, and hydration in skincare products. Best suited for DIY formulators and professionals creating creams and lotions, though it’s limited to cosmetic use only.

Perfect for DIY Projects
I ordered this Glycerol Monostearate powder to experiment with making my own face cream, and it’s been brilliant so far. It blends oils and water like a dream, giving the mixture that professional, smooth texture you’d expect from shop-bought products. The powder itself arrived clean and fine, no clumps or odd smell, which gave me confidence straight away. I used it in a small batch of lotion, and it gave the perfect creamy consistency without feeling greasy. It also seemed to keep the mixture stable for longer, which was a nice bonus. The packet reseals well too, though I do wish it came with a small scoop for measuring. Still, it’s pure, easy to use, and ideal for anyone into DIY skincare or cosmetic making. Worth the money. I give this product my recommendation.

Good for home made cosmetics
Because my skin is extremely sensitive I tend to make my own body lotion. This is a great addition, it helps the emulsion to be maintained longer. It's easy to use and you only need a tiny bit, it's cost effective

Excellent emulsifier! It is a must have when making natural skin and hair products. The price is right given that one needs to use very little to get the job done. Will but again!

I'm no expert, but really enjoyed using this to try some DIY cosmetics. It dissolved without a ton of effort. Did it work any better than anything I can buy? I'm not sure, it seemed just as good as some of the drug store brands and definitely more cost effective. Most importantly, my daughter had fun.

MYOC’s Glycerol Monostearate SE is a straightforward emulsifying agent that performs reliably when properly dissolved. Though initial attempts with cold water failed, once heated, the flakes yield a smooth, pale white liquid that blends easily with oils—ideal for DIY emulsions and hair oil formulations. The product arrived in a white plastic zipper bag with blue and green trim, measuring just over 5 × 8 inches. Branding is simple and functional: “MYOC Glycerol Monostearate SE” printed clearly on the front. The presentation is utilitarian, with no excess decoration—appropriate for a raw material. The ingredient list is minimal and pure: 100% Glycerol Monostearate. The contents are white flakes, waxy in texture, and odorless. Glycerol monostearate (GMS) is a monoester of glycerol and stearic acid, commonly used as an emulsifier, thickener, and stabilizer in cosmetic and food formulations. It functions by reducing surface tension between oil and water phases, allowing for stable emulsions. Instructions recommend using 1–10% of GMS in formulations. I tested two methods. First, I added flakes to cool water and waited—unsuccessfully—for dissolution over several weeks. Next, I added the flakes to near-boiling purified water at a 5% concentration. They dissolved easily into a white liquid, which I transferred to a pump bottle. Once cooled, the serum remained slick and pale white. Oils mixed readily with the solution, and I’ve since used it successfully in my DIY hair oil blends and in skin moisturizers. At $15 for 2 oz of flakes—enough to produce up to 200 oz of emulsion—the price is fair for a specialty emulsifier with high yield and clean performance. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars. Simple, effective, and versatile—just be sure to dissolve it hot.
