Steiff My First Steiff (Cream, 24cm)

It's ok. I already had a 'My First Steiff' bear given to my 1 year old and she loves it so much, I though I better have a reserve ready just in case!Having compared it to the original, this one's nose was squint, one eye & the mouth wasn't well defined. It's soft and seems otherwise well stitched. Thankfully my one-year old hasn't been able to tell the difference yet.As has been said, it comes in a bag, which was ok for us, as it won't be used as a gift or kept as a collectors item.If we hadn't got this as a direct replacement for a bear she already had, we wouldn't have bought it. It's ok and soft, but I'm sure there's lots of bears you could get like that, that don't cost £26.

I first bought one of these for my son when he was born in 2008 and he loves it, its the only teddy he'll still have in his room. So when my nephew was born last year I was delighted to get this again and I hope he treasures him too - still the perfect size and beautifully soft. Machine washable and durable its the ideal teddy for a baby. However - please remember not to leave toys in your babys cot whilst they are sleeping.

It has to be said that this bear is perfect for a young baby who still wants a little teddy-bear. It is surprisingly small actually, it took me aback when I first saw it but there are only a couple of Steiff Bears that are suitable for a child under 36mths; the added factor is that it is entirely machine washable which is essential for a Baby's bear.In this case, it makes an ideal first bear for a tiny baby. It is incredibly soft, a lovely colour & looks like a Teddy Bear should look. I was disappointed at first but then common sense took over & I realised how perfect it is for a baby's first Teddy Bear instead of one of those giant ones that are of absolutely no use at all!!It really is quite beautiful & the stitching on the foot is an added bonus.

This is the most amazingly beautiful first teddy ever. He has cuteness softness huggability and is safe for the newest of babies. It is so safe and even hypoallergenic and washable. Love this beautiful bear and also thought very reasonable in price.

After reading various reviews good and bad I decided to purchase this bear as a present for my newborn grand daughter.I wasn’t expecting a large bear as I had read the description in the listing, but what I was expecting was an item of obvious quality given the brand name.I was disappointed firstly with the poor presentation which was a polethene bag and secondly the quality of the bear which looked cheaply made.I wasn’t expecting something that looked as if it had been won at a fairground.Very disappointed !!

This looks a lot cuter in the photos than it is and was quite disappointed with it but as it was a gift that I needed quickly there was no time to return it. The baby probably doesn't mind as she doesn't know any different but it was not what I was expecting and although pictured sitting really doesn't sit up as it is not jointed or weighted.

It is very well made and looks high quality - a teddy that will last into adulthood. That's what we wanted as all our other grandchildren still have the birth gifts (not steiff teddies). However - our grand daughter appears unimpressed as she prefers a soft toy elephant that someone else bought.

When my first grandson arrived three years ago the first thing we bought him was one of these bears. It has survived so well that our granddaughter's arrival a month ago was reason to buy another. We resisted the temptation to buy the pink and blue variety - beige seems the correct colour, so both bears are the same.
