KJ Classic I + Kontrol Tower
The original felt gasket had long since given up on the chimney of my KJ Classic I and the Kontrol Tower wasn't sealed well, leading to air leakage and it falling off when the dome was opened. This was perfect to replace the old gasket material and secure my Kontrol Tower back to the dome. I've done a few very high temp cooks since installing it and there have been no issues with adhesion or degradation. There was plenty left to do another application if I need to in the future.

Nice gasket adhesive not so much
Gasket is really nice and durable. Adhesive sucks. I Have the Stainless Smoker vented cap. If you take it off to clean it the gasket wants to come off with it.

Use on top of existing one to fit tight!
I almost returned this item (miss guided by some wrong reviews) since it look thiner than the OEM; however, I looked really close to the original seal and I noticed that they used multiple layers, and of course over the years the seal gets worn, so I cleaned the old seal very good and just added another layer on top of the existing one to fit and it works out perfectly! No more leaking and I noticed that I start saving charcoal again thanks to the perfect seal! Adhesive is very strong and easy to install! Kamado Joe is back in service as brand new! Thanks Amazon!

Too thin and narrow.
The material is very thin and the tape is very narrow. One wrapping of the tape didn't even come close to making the chimney topper fit. Three wrappings barely made contact. Hopefully, it will seal the chimney well enough to control temperatures. Pretty worthless POS.

Not Enough Seal Length!
Looks like a direct replacement for the seal that came on my Classic Kamado Joe 18'. But it is not. The seal that it comes with is wrapped around the opening several times to make a tight seal. If you remove the old seal, there is not enough of the new seal to wrap around to get that same tight seal. My suggestion would be to NOT remove all of the old seal and then use the new seal to wrap a few times. Really, the only issue is there is not enough of the new seal. Or, they could make it a bit thicker.
