Noticeably quieter
Used this on the bonnet of my classic Mini Cooper. There is definitely a reduction in bonnet vibration and heat. Engine noise transmitted through the bonnet is also noticeable reduced. Worth noting that this reduced bonnet heat obviously means your engine cooling will be reduced - worth considering if like me you are putting this on an older car.About 1/4 of the material was left over as my bonnet is so small! Trying to think of somewhere else to use it...

Not high density
This is not high density by any stretch of the imagination. Only has limited effect as suspected, it's suitable for low noise levels but you really need the heavy stuff for around an engine.I have tried similar material alongside some real high density foam, and this is relatively useless. The clue is in the weight.
