Bathrooms: The Smart Approach to Design (Home Decorating) Paperback – May 27, 2011

We used this book as a reference during discussions with our contractor. Though perhaps a bit dated, the product server the purpose intended. The seller got the book to us early and in the condition described.

I received this book last night. Sat down with the intention of quickly thumbing through it, and ended up reading the entire book from cover to cover. It's excellent! Lots of great tips and things to consider before starting a project. It covers both practical (functional) issues, which are so important in bath design, along with lots of attractive, very current aesthetic ideas and suggestions, and also breaks down various design elements like sinks, faucets, etc. It does tend to feature larger, more lavish baths (along with a few very appealing 1/2 baths) but the design principles are strong and pics very inspiring. The ideas could be scaled down and applied to a smaller bath to great effect.I am looking to upgrade one of my existing baths to make it more spa-like without changing the overall layout of the room. Trying to get a good soak in my current bathtub, with only 9 inches to the overflow, is not working for me. It's basically like sitting in a puddle. I found lots of good ideas in this book, as well as many tips that will be very helpful to me as I plan and execute this project. Highly recommended!

There are some very beautiful bathrooms included in this book, but most of them are far beyond any remodel I would be interested in. Not a super practical book for someone who just wants to make some upgrades or prep their house for sale. I could probably have found similar "inspiration" from a home magazine.

I had to use this book for my Kitchen and Bath Design class and I love it. It is easy and fun to read, the pictures are amazing and point out how the different elements look when used in the space. It is very truthful in the pros and cons of different materials and walks you through each aspect of bath design from choosing a layout and style to the materials that are available. I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested either in a career in design or if you want to look at remodeling your current space.I also have the Kitchen Design and will be purchasing the Small Spaces book from this series very soon.

This book didn't provide many ideas for me. I have small pretty basic space bathrooms and was looking for some creative ideas for a facelift, not a rebuild.

Photos make this book well worth buying. Text is only helpful if you can't think your way out of a paper bag without guidance.

I needed to see ideas for redoing my bathroom, and this was perfect for that.. The same magazine in the hardware story was too expensive (I look for things I can use just as well that are economical). I live in the South but was raised in the North, and guess I am a 'frugal' Northoner.This magazine helped very much, and I commend the seller for a great job.Sandy

It doesn’t really offer much for small bathroom help but has some good information
