Product description EXTRA VALUE KIT You are looking at our bio-ring filter upgrade kit which gives you additional Biological filtration and also allows you to choose a gravel of your choice rather than the Ceramic Media that the manufacturer supply. We recommend a gravel no smaller than 3mm in size We have run these in a marine tank with coral gravel, a planted tank pea gravel and a cold water keeping the original ceramic media. They will fit all models old and new or all sizes. Trimming may be required to fit the smaller models (15litre versions) You will receive: 1 x Beige/white Upgrade biO-ring, 1 x Service kit refill, 1 Air stone and a cleaning pad. ***Please note NO gravel or aquarium will be supplied but is for illustration purposes only*** Instructions:- If setting up from scratch: Simply sleeve the bio-ring over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding ceramic media or a gravel of your choice. We recommend a gravel size of 3mm and up. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. These should be replaced every 12-18 months. Adding to a running aquarium: Simply gravel clean as normal to remove debris from the base of your. Remove the ceramic media to enable you to sleeve the upgrade bio-ring over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding the original ceramic media back or your choice of new gravel. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. You may want to remove the fish prior to adding the washed clean gravel. Great idea
Bought for my 60 litre biorb which I felt needed better filtration, the idea of this is good and hopefully works well. Can’t tell it’s there so keeps the sleek look of the tank.

Use it on top of the ceramic media
It looks much better than the original but you do need some ceramic media underneath to maintain the bacteria levels; I found this out the hard way and lost a few fish!!

Brilliant, gin clear water since installation
Since installing this filter kit to my BiOrb the water has been crystal clear. So much better than the standard BiOrb kit. Definitely 100% recommend

Brilliant and it WORKS
Love this because it allows you to pimp up your BioOrb with proper gravel which is better for small fish. Great!

BiOrb Ring upgrade and filter kit.
Good idea have installed foam ring when I had to empty and move Biorb globe due to decorating. So I will see how it goes when fish return into tank.
