It's just the FUNimation DBZ Movie Blu-rays re-released by Manga UK.
This is a doable release at best. Manga UK has at last decided to bring over to the UK shores the Dragon Ball Z movie collection not remastered by TOEI ANIMATION in Japan but by FUNimation in US, when I said that this is a 'doable release' it's really just that, it's pretty decent at times while also pretty bad at others. It's a mixed-bag release since it was automated process by a machine.FUNimation is known to "remaster" its Dragon Ball (DB/Z/GT/Movies/Specials) content with automated machines than use actual talented people, the last time they did that it was the Dragon Ball Z Level Blu-rays (1.1 and 1.2) and they were promptly cancelled because they sold terribly but looked impressively amazing! I'd even go as far as to say far better than the Dragon Boxes.Furthermore, how do these DBZ movie Blu-rays compare to the Dragon Box version? It pales in comparison, really. But hey, what's the alternative to getting the movies in decent quality and with Eng subs/dub? Not that many, to be honest. It's either FUNimation's Double Feature (this), the Single version (fullscreen DVDs) or the Ocean Dub which unfortunately only lasted movies 1-3 but love those dubs so much that I still watch from time to time. Oh yeah, there's also the Big Green DVDs but that's irrelevant. For the prices the UK DBZ Blu-rays (inc. DVD version) I'd say it's a really good deal and chances are if you're not as picky as I am then you'll enjoy it.Another downside I remembered of the Blu-ray Double Feature version, the 13th movie (Wrath of the Dragon) Japanese audio is mono muffled whereas the DVD version while the Japanese audio was still Japanese mono, it was clean. Almost like broadcast audio!

2 classic DBZ movies looking better than ever on Blu-ray
After years of waiting the UK is finally getting a release of all the old DBZ movies. Obviously I'm not counting the dreadful " Big Green dub" versions that we got back in the day. This new release thankfully uses the Funimation voice cast that we all know and love, with the option for the Japanese voices. This first release contains movies 1 and 2, aka Dead Zone and World's Strongest, and has both the Blu-ray and DVD versions included. Both movies look amazing on Blu-ray and have aged wonderfully. As good as the DBZ series still looks it's clear that these movies had a bigger budget to work with.Dead Zone is around 45 minutes long and revolves around Goku trying to rescure Gohan from Garlic Jr and his henchmen with the help of Krillin and Piccolo. It's short but action packed and straight to the point, with some great martial arts choreography.World Strongest is a bit longer and is about a mad scientist who wants to take over Goku's body and conquer the world. This also has some great fight scenes, with even Master Roshi getting in on the action. Goku's fights with the henchmen and use of the Kaioken attack are a definite highlight. The old movies don't really fit into the main storyline and each seem to take place in an alternate timeline where things happened differently. For example, World's Strongest would seem to take place right after Goku battles Nappa and Vegeta, but doesn't really fit because Piccolo is alive, everyone is on earth instead of Namek, and Goku is healthy. It's pretty fun to try and figure out the timelines, but shouldn't be taken too seriously. All in all these movies are great for a quick fix of epic DBZ action.I highly recommend getting this if you're a DBZ fan, and I'm really looking forward to the Cooler and Broly movies further down the line.
