Sheaffer are one of the manufacturers who have always used their own cartridges which is a pain when they did become hard to find. I normally use converters but I recently acquired a late 50s/early 60s Lady Sheaffer Skripsert which only fit the old button converters, costly and hard to find. I am glad that these were available and not too expensive. They're costlier than many international standard cartridges but they can be - these are the only ones that will fit. Connection is decent, ink flows well and it means my old pen is usable again. Sheaffer blue is what I'd describe as "vintage". A sort of soft, just brighter than navy hue that looks great on slightly yellowed paper. There are much brighter inks available nowadays but it does the job and dries super fast. I dont think i'd buy it again and will syringe fill the cartridge - but its a useful option.
