I've already purchased this a few times and having compared it to tens of other products out there I can comfortably say that I rank this on the top of my lists.I prefer not to buy them regularly as I like change of taste per each pack I order. They generally are freshly roasted. Only one out of my few orders were a little over the fresh roast period (ie: was roasted approx 2-3 months ago).They generally return decent flavour but if the roast date is older than a month, I end up grinding them finer which in return could twist towards a more bitter flavour. If that's the case rather than being too picky I just keep the smile on my face and add a splash of hot water to my double espresso to finish it off.Overall, being a regular customer who buys this per every 3-4 orders, I would recommend the beans. If you like milk in your coffee, don't even think about ordering and just get it. If you like your double espressos like I do, order it and hope that it's fresh. The more people buy the fresher it should be as I expect it not to stay on the shelves for long. (ps: I had that issue with some expensive ones which are obviously not sold in enough numbers and despite being sourced from quality sources they end up staying in the warehouse for 3+ months which is not ideal)one critique for the company... I know it creates issues but displaying roast date on your packaging was a good touch. I don't like the fact that you removed it and only displaying best before date now. (I am working it out based on average life of beans to reverse estimate roast date atm but it would be great if you start displaying the roast date again).

Relative newcomer to 'proper' home coffee. These are the first beans I've tried after an initial go with the standard 'red bag' Lavazza option (which were nice but didn't feel like they were opening up new worlds).The most prominent difference initially was how smoky these taste. Assume that's intentional, but the aroma still feels like I've got my head inside a chimney at times, and even opening the bag isn't pleasant, which is a new experience for something containing coffee!A couple of dozen cups later I think I like it more than I did, and from the five-star reviews I assume it's something I'm missing. However, this might be one for those with more sophisticated tastes!

An amendment to my original review: Use a fine grind setting! After initial disappointment with the flavour from this coffee I set my DeLonghi bean-to-cup machine for a finer grind and it has made a massive difference. Really full-bodied and powerful flavour now, without any bitterness. A huge caffeine increase too, I suspect, if my current state of wakefulness is anything to go by.Original review... Very nice Italian style coffee. A little 'smooth' for my personal taste, but it is exactly what you'd expect in a restaurant or cafe that has to cater for all tastes. Beans evenly roasted and each cup is consistent and predictable. No bitterness. I'd suggest using a 'strong' setting if you have a bean to cup machine but, again, it depends how you like your coffee.

Used this product through a sage pro grinder, got it set up my 1st go to be the precise amount per cup and precise to the extract time. Amazing coffee, really nice chocolate and caramel notes. When I owe a cafè this is one I will keep my 👀s out on ☝️ Really nice thick cremè giving lovely taste 👅 and also amazing lattè art that lasts so long 😃

Was looking forward to trying these beans, but as soon as I opened the bag I was disappointed. No lovely coffee aroma, instead a horrid sour smell.Feeling optimistic I added beans to hopper & pulled a few shots. The shots looked good with nice smooth crema so I was hopeful.Alas, upon trying them the taste was not pleasant. I'll stick with Lavazza for cheaper beans, Illy for the wife and local roasted coffee for when I deserve a treat.

Definitely the proper coffee blend: aromatic, smooth in taste, strong enough (but far from a "killer").I can't spend a day without a cup of coffee and I always look for the "perfect coffee", exploring the new blends and providers. It is never ending job - not because it is impossible to find a very good coffee (and this one is definitely one of them) but because of pleasure of exploring.If your approach to the "little brown grains" is the same - give this one a try and you won't be disappointed.And there is also the other story related to this supplier: as my order hasn't arrived as expected, I sent my inquiry - the answer was immediate, positive and oriented on customer only, even if it appeared that the whole situation was created by Royal Mail. Outstanding service (and great coffee).
