This Is The Best Wild (Non-Farmed) Salmon Oil without Rosemary Extract & Molecularly Distilled I've Found So Far
I've been looking for a long time for a quality (non-farmed) wild salmon oil without rosemary extracts for our feral rescue cats, mostly without luck. We had been cutting open New Chapter Wholemega Salmon Oil capsules, which I know is a quality product, but that was messy, very expensive, and some oil in every capsule is wasted. Additionally, several of our rescues didn't like the taste, so we had to use smaller doses.Last month I found this product and after reading reviews and checking the website (http://cleopetproducts.com/cleo-pure-salmon-oil-for-dogs-and-cats/), I felt I'd found just the product we needed. It checked all my boxes: wild non-farmed salmon oil, Iceland sourced, molecularly distilled, pharmaceutical grade, third-party tested, no rosemary, and great reviews from Amazon. They also offered an instant coupon when ordering from Amazon & a money-back guarantee if not satisfied. My first order was lost in the Christmas rush, but when I cancelled & re-ordered, I was immediately contacted by a company representative, Meredith, inquiring if I'd had any problems with the product and if there was anything they could do to make my purchase better. I explained the problem, and got my replacement order right away.Opening the bottle, the oil is very clear & there is negligible odor. The bottle recommends 1/4 teaspoon daily for cats, but I'd only been giving 6-8 drops of the New Chapter, so I started with that amount, added to their canned food. To my surprise, all our cats accepted it without a problem, which was wonderful. I'm currently slowing increasing the doses to get it to the 1/4 teaspoon, which seems like alot of oil to me, but I need to research doses a little further. it's not a heavy dark oil like the NC, but very light and nearly clear in color. My only 'complaint' so far is that the bottle's dispensing for small doses (especially drops) can be difficult, and the top leaks a little when it's tipped back to a vertical position, but it wipes off easily and really is not a problem for me.I was again contacted by Meredith to make sure I'd received the salmon oil & how our rescues had liked it. I asked her to confirm that the salmon oil was not farmed and she did.Several weeks have passed and our cats are all doing well with this oil. I am using larger quantities to achieve the same effect as the NC capsules, but this is a much more economical purchase. As far as I can tell, this is the best Salmon oil for pets out there, and I will definitely be ordering again.I just received a 3rd email from Meredith asking me to write a review of their product. Before writing, I again wanted to confirm this is a non-farmed wild salmon oil. I'm including her response below (which was the same as the first time I asked):"Our oil is NOT farmed, but trawled from wild salmon in a designated 200 mile fishing zone around Iceland. For more information on this, visit our Cleo Pet Products website (unfortunately we are unable to include a direct link inside these emails in the Amazon system). As for refrigeration of the product - it is fine for the oil to be refrigerated, but is not necessary in cooler climates. However, it should be stored in a cool, dark space for maintaining the quality. In warmer weather, yes, refrigeration is good."

This is a good product, but terribly inferior packaging
This is a good product, but terribly inferior packaging. This is the second time I’ve ordered this and both times there was absolutely zero packing material in the box surrounding the bottle. As a result the bottle is so sunken in on all sides the bottle won’t even stand. Also, I agree with many other customers that have said in reviews that the bottle once opened leaks each time it is used. In a short period of time there is a thick gunky build up of oil at the top of bottle. Extremely poor packing and shipping methods. I can’t recommend this product even though the oil is good quality. It’s a daily struggle with the bottle not standing up and also the thick build up of oil. I will not be ordering again.

Excellent Product but I wish the bottle was BPA free.
I've been giving my dogs the Cleo Pure Icelandic Salmon Oil for Dogs and Cats for a month now and I'm very happy with my purchase. I have 2 older dogs with mast cell cancer and 1 young dog who has stomach sensitivity so I have to feed them a specialized raw food diet that my holistic vet formulated. I need to be very careful what I feed them and I try to buy the best products I can for them. I switched to Cleo from another brand because after reading about the Cleo product, I felt that it was of better quality than the product I had been using. My dogs seem to like it and it doesn't upset my younger dog's stomach. The squeeze bottle makes it easy to measure out. My only complaint (and why I gave 4 stars instead of 5) is that I wish the plastic bottle was BPA free. If Cleo changed that one aspect, I would give their product 5 stars.

He also seems to be moving around better and not so stiff in the joints
I ordered this for my cat Fizzle to help with his dry skin. I have tried giving it to him in his water or drizzled on his food but he refuses to eat. I started putting it in a toddler medicine dropper and opening his mouth. He seems to be moving better(he is 12) but he still has dandruff. His fur did get softer and shinier. He also seems to be moving around better and not so stiff in the joints. It would be easier if he would take voluntarily but I will continue giving it to him. Hoping it will help his dander in the end.

The price of $22 was wasted and the cat food was wasted
Despite being advertised as 'no fishy smell etc.' I used the 1/8th Tsp as the dosage indicated and neither cat would touch their food. I left the food hoping to encourage them when they got hungry enough to eat it. If you have cats you already know that doesn't work. The price of $22 was wasted and the cat food was wasted. I bought this because I have one long hair mixed breed cat whose coat is dull and has tender joints; the search continues.
