If used regularly it is an effective dish washer cleaner! The product has a fresh lemon scent and is a clear gel. These are really good to use on your dishwasher periodically. It is nice to be able to purchase them in a pack of three. They help maintain your dishwasher and avoid any build up. One of these did arrive broken open in the shipment but the product itself is really good. There is no strong scent to this product.

I can't speak to their cleaning ability, as I don't think my dishwasher was visibly "dirty." However, they do leave the dishwasher smelling clean and fresh. I gave this product 3 stars because I realized the small plastic piece in the bottle hadn't dissolved after the wash cycle, so I had to manually remove it and run the cycle again, which was pretty irritating. They are fine, but I probably won't repurchase.
